Lucy's POV

Finally the day had come where my friends and I could go on the Hogsmeade trip for the first time. It was a cool winter morning and I had my green and silver Slytherin scarf wrapped around my neck and was wearing a green knit hat for warmth.

"Just be careful alright." Severus said as he signed the permission form.

"I will, see you later." I took the paper from him and rushed to the exit where I would meet my friends and hand in the permission form.

Just then I heard how Mcgonagall told Harry he could not go because of his missing permission slip.

"Then none of us should go, it would be unfair." Hermione said and began walking inside the castle again, just to be stopped by Harry.

"No it is alright, you guys go." He said with a smile that was obviously forced. I could tell how defeated he was and that he really wanted to go.

I thought for a second if I should maybe stay behind after all but Jennie had already taken ahold of my hand and was dragging me along to catch up with Terence. Him, Jennie and I had become closer this year, we probably would have gotten friends in second year but then the whole incident happened and I didn't see him anymore.

Ron and Hermione followed shortly after. Terence, Jennie and I ended up going to the Three Broomsticks alone because the others wanted to go look at the infamous Shrieking shack.

We ended up ordering a Butterbeer each and once we finished them headed back up to the castle early. It was freezing out and we were all looking forward to sitting around the fireplace in the Slytherin dorm room.

"You know, I bet that Weasley boy will end up together with Granger." Terence said all of a sudden while we were waling back.

Jennie and I looked at him confused. "You sure? I mean they do seem like good friends I guess." Jennie said.

"But I feel like Harry is just as close to both of them you know." I remarked.

"Well yes, they are all close friends of course but there is just something telling me that Hermione and Ron are somehow meant for one another." Terence smirked.

"Only time can tell what will happen." I giggled.

In the evening I had something special planned. Usually my classes and practices with Severus took place in his office or when I was going to be performing my magic usually outside, but because of the cold I was allowed to use his potions classroom today. We pushed all the chairs and tables to the side and put a singular pillow in the middle of the room.

The last few times I meditated, I felt as though I was about to levitate and when my eyes opened it looked like my hands were glowing with light magic. I knew I could explore this more and perform it even better, but I would need full concentration which I thought I would get best in a large room by myself. So once everything was set up, Severus said he would leave the room and come back in an hour or so.

I sat down and began to regulate my breathing and sharpen my concentration. I just had a feeling that this session would unlock a new potential in my abilities if I just let all of the light magic I can feel inside of myself out.

Snape's POV

The hour was almost over and Dumbledore had asked me to show him Lucy's progress. I led him down from his office and into the dungeons. Once exactly one hour was over, I opened the door and had hoped that Lucy was succesful and could maybe explain or perhaps even demonstrate something for the headmaster.

But once we both walked through the door I caught him marvelling at the sight before him. I couldn't blame him. Lucy was about two meters above the ground and her eyes were shut. She was still in a sitting down position and both of her hands were stretched out and it looked like liquid clouds were pouring out of her hands, the whole room was beginning to turn foggy. The palms of her hands were glowing with white light that forced us both to squint a little while looking at it.

I think in that moment her abilities were definitely taken to completely new heights.
