Lucy's POV

"Jennie I'm going to get you all wet." I giggled and she let go. "I don't care, hugging you is worth it."

After Jennie let go I saw a crowd of Professors come my way, Severus at the front. They were all asking what happened and if I was okay.

"I'm fine, I-" was all I was able to get out before Severus told them all to leave me alone. "She is soaking wet, she can answer your stupid questions after she dries up and we check her for injuries."

He pulled me aside. "Lucy, is everything really okay?" He asked, his expression completely softened.

I nodded. He also pulled me in for a hug then, clearly not caring about getting wet the same way Jennie did.

"Let's get you inside and cleaned up then." He said and led me to the castle.

We walked down to his chambers and gave me a towel to dry off with. "I think I'm going to take a shower, I'll be back soon." I announced but he stopped me.

"I know this isn't great timing, but the headmaster really wants to speak with you." Severus explained. Confused I asked him if he knew why.

"I think it has to do with the first challenge and also the time you were sick. While you were gone with the Horntail I told him about the nightmares, pain and anxiety you were feeling." Severus explained. Just in that moment I had noticed how the anxiety had completely gone away.

"I think it is interconnected with the dragons somehow, well Dumbledore suggested that." He said.

Once up in Dumbledores office he first offered me a sweet which I gladly accepted.

"Lucy, I want you to tell me why you did what you did during the event and also what happened after the dragon carried you away." Dumbledore said.

"Well my strategy was to make the dragon trust me, I threw my wand to show I didn't want to hurt him and I freed him from his chains to let him escape if he wanted to. Then while he carried me away my shirt ripped over the lake and I fell in. When I swam to the shore and began walking back to the arena I came across Shadow. He brought me back." I explained.

"When your father told me about the symptoms you were having it reminded me awfully a lot of the way the dragons were being treated. You see, when you learned that Dragon Slayer magic it did something with you. I have been studying other forms of magic outside of our world for years and have learned that people who are so called Dragon Slayers actually have a very strong connection to dragons. They should really change that name to dragon tamers." Dumbledore began.

"They were close and you felt their presence through the torture they endured. The jabbing pains you got were coming from the way the dragons were stabbed to keep them under control. They hold them in chains to confine them and lock them up in small cages. The dragons must be very scared during those moments and that is probably the reason for you feeling so anxious. You are feeling their fear."

It all made sense. Why Shadow is so tame towards me. Why the time Viktor blinded that dragon I could sense its pain.

Severus looked down at me and put a hand on my shoulder.

"I think it will be best if you keep practicing that magic of yours. It seems to be very powerful and I can sense that you can rise to a much higher potential than where you are now." Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Albus, I don't want my daughter to keep enduring this kind of pain because of those dragons suffering. Do you have any idea in how much agony she was because of it." My father said with a stern tone.

"No need to worry, I will order for a release of every single dragon that was present in the arena today. We will transport them to an uninhabited island and I promise you they will not be used for entertainment purposes anymore."

I thanked Dumbledore for this action, I was glad I wouldn't have to feel that pain I did a few days ago. But I was also glad that these Dragons could live freely. I hope the Hungarian Horntail that flew away with me will also be safe and not captured again.

After my talk with Dumbledore I went to go take a hot shower and then returned back to my father.

"You know dad, I think that my relationship with Shadow can also be of benefit in the future. You know, when I have to join the death eaters." I said that last bit more quietly.

He sighed. "I still wish I didn't have to drag you into this, but I agree. The dark lord will most certainly value someone who can tame a dragon."

I knew it was important to show Voldemort I was strong once he returns. If I was weak and unworthy to him then I fear he might kill me.
