Lucy's POV

Finally, the day of the last trial was there. I didn't even care who won, I just wanted it to be over because it kept making me worry about Harry and his safety.

A few days ago Crouch was found by Harry in the forest, he had been murdered. Harry was sent in to Dumbledore for interrogation, but the mystery of who killed him was not unsolved yet. They wanted to cancel the tournament, but because of the rules that was not possible.

Harry told us that while he was in Dumbledores office he fell into a sort of "well of memories" as he described it and told us he saw a court trial of Karkaroff. Apparently he mentioned that Severus was a former Death Eater. It really wasn't good that Harry found that out, he knew of Severus past and he told me that I should be weary of my own father now because of this. He'd repeatedly tell me that if my dad were to do anything suspicious I should tell him and Dumbledore about it. Oh if he only knew..

He also found out that Crouch had a son who was involved in Voldemort's doings during the first wizarding war. We thought that maybe he was the one who killed Crouch.

Harry had told me this information for the first time, but he said he had a dream where he saw Voldemort with Crouch's son. There was definitely a chance that he was the one who killed Crouch because if Harry's dream was actually a vision of sorts then it would prove that Crouch's son is out of Azkaban which would give him the chance to kill his father.

Right now we were seated in a semi-circle of an arena that was placed in front of a large maze of hedges. The school band was playing a happy tune and the four champions were standing each in front of one of the mazes entrances.

For the first time in a long time all of my friends were sitting together in a row again. I was next to Jennie and Hermione, who was next to Ron and next to him was Terence. The twins and Ginny were also sitting close to us. We were all cheering for Harry.

Sitting right in front of us was my Dad who prior to the event had asked me about if I was brewing or if I knew anyone who was brewing polyjuice potion. Some ingredients to make this potion had gone missing from his cabinet, but I assured him that I had no idea who took it.

Dumbledore gave a small speech about who would be entering the maze in what order and then explained that the first person to touch the cup that was hidden somewhere in the maze will be the winner. He also explained that if anyone wants to withdraw, all they had to do is send out red sparks with their wand.

Right as Harry and Cedric entered, the hedges closed themselves so we couldn't see where they were going.

"Not again." I could hear Terence sigh from across the bench we were sitting on. "Now we will have to just sit here and stare at nothing."

That was the case for some time. We just sat there while the band kept playing that same tune over and over.

"I agree with Terence you know." Ron said to break the silence that had formed in our group. "The only exciting part is when Harry returns and tells us what actually happened during the trial. Well, besides the one with the dragon of course. That reminds me." He turned to face me.

"Lucy, you never told me what happened after that dragon took off with you." I chuckled at Ron. I guess he was right, I hadn't told that many people about it yet. So to kill the time a bit I told the story of how I was dropped in the lake, found Shadow in the forest and then was flown back by him to the stadium.

Once I had finished my story, I looked back at the maze and actually saw something happen.

"Red sparks." Hermione said. I could tell she was worried that something might have happened to Harry and I was feeling the same way.

It took a few minutes, but someone must have found the area where the sparks were sent out from and rescued the person. It turned out to be Viktor. He had been stunned by somebody and wasn't moving. I breathed out a sigh of relief that Harry seemed to be okay then.

Not even a minute after Fleur was also carried out of the maze by another adult. She looked terrified and had dirt all over her.

"I really don't wanna know what is in there now." Ron said.

"This probably is the hardest trial yet." Terence remarked. We all agreed.

"But this does mean that someone from Hogwarts will win the tournament! Either Diggory or Harry." I heard the twins say with grins on their faces.

They really always seemed to be in a good mood.

All of a sudden I heard a grunt of pain in front of me. It was Severus. I climbed over the railing and landed right next to him. He was grasping his arm in pain right at the area where the dark mark was.

"Dad." I whispered "are you okay?"

It took him some time to recover from the pain, he was digging his teeth into his bottom lip, probably to stop himself from making any sound because he didn't want people around him to know he was in pain.

Once he stopped gripping his arm, he turned to face me, placing both his hands on my shoulders.

"He has returned." He said, quiet enough that only I would hear it. "Do you have to go? I mean you said that whenever it burns he is calling a meeting." I whispered back to him. Severus shook his head. "I can't, if I leave now it will look suspicious."

I sat down next to Severus for the remainder of the trial, resting my head on his shoulder to hopefully give him some sort of comfort while his mark was burning.

It was already dark outside when Harry arrived back again. With a loud thud he hit the ground with Cedric. It looked like they had apparated here somehow, maybe that was part of the task.

"Took them long enough." The twins laughed.

The band began playing the music and people started walking down to congratulate the two. Something seemed off though, from over here I could see Harry crying and Cedric hasn't moved an inch since they got here.
