CHAP 61

That was the thing.Chanyeol could tell that Baek loved Kai with all his heart,but he could not say the thing for Kai.This guy enjoyed the attention,whether he admits it or not.But he showed that kind of attention to everyone else.It was clear to Chanyeol that Baek was part of that 'everyone.'

He was okay not to be with Baek,He was okay being the number one supporter,the person who claps happily in the background.Baek did not have to choose Chanyeol as long as Baek was happy.Chanyeol was content on the sidelines.

Untill he knew how Baek's lips taste like.How Baek's body squirmed inside Chanyeol's arms.
How Baek would snuggle to Chanyeol's side every morning.
Every day,with Baek,beside him,
Chanyeol became greedy little by little,his resolve to stay as friends dissolving bit by bit.

He had to contain himself all day,giving Baek and Kai space for their friendship and keeping his jealousy in check.

What is wrong to want more of his roommate?He had an inkling that Baek liked him,even just a little.But when Chanyeol was with Kai,his confidence deflated.He wa reminded of his role as the outsider,the onlooker,the one who would never be Baek's choice.

Chanyeol grabbed a pillow and hug it with all of his might.He was doing so well,but his mouth had to ruin everything.That horrible talk just had to happen.

He pulled an arm over his eyes.
He shouldn't have said that.

'You are so stupid Chanyeol,In more ways than one.

He had no more desire to lie to himself nor deny what he felt.He no longer wanted to be the secind-best.He wanted to be Baek's one and only.

He rolled on his stomach.He missed Baek,but he did not know how to make things better.The look on Baek's face was too much to look at.

"What have you done?"

By that time Chanyeol realized it,it was already morning.He glared at the light streaming from his window.It felt like he had just blinked,and all of a sudden,it was morning.

He tried closing his eyes to get some sleep,but his was already wide awake,his body itching to move.Yawning,he opened his window,and let the soft breeze inside.

He loved mornings,especially like this one,when you could smell the freshness of the air  and feel the warmth of the sunlight.There were even more benefits of being an early riser. One was being able to watch Baek sleep.Seeing the other's sleeping face first thing in the morning was far better than anything else.Afterward,Chanyeol could prepared breakfast for Baek and then,dive back in bed.

Though,there was also sometimes when he did not want to move from his bed and continued cuddling Baek.Like that time when they first spend the morning together.After Baek initiated their kiss.That felt like it happened a long time ago.

'Alright,then.time to move and later,I'll talk to Baek.'

Chanyeol felt good with his plan,so he happily dragged his weary body outside.Ever since he was a kid,he loved watering the plants in the morning as a way to wake himself up.The feel of being around the plants was the best.He hummed to a tune as ge got to work.

Todays seemed lije it was going to be a fine day.

He would try to talk to Baek and apologize.Hopefully,Baek still wanted to talked to hi.He shook his head as if it could dispel his negative thoughts.

The sourrounding neigbhors had started rousing from their sleep,and Chanyeol felt good knowing he had a headstart.He tried to savor the last minute of silence before everyone wakes up,when he heard voices,not so far from their house.

It was too early for Kris to pick him up.

No good seemed to have heard of his plea as Kris spicky balck hair came into view,one by one he recogniszed the voices of the other people,who came with kris.What was worse was he knew where they would be going.

Chanyeol massaged his forehead and pretended to be busy  with the plants,Even when Kris stopped infront of their gate.

"Wow so diligent in the morning!"
Kris vioce was loud and bright.

"What do you want?Chanyeol asked without looking up.

Kris chuckled."So grumpy.Won't you let us come in first?"

"Nope.Go away,"Chanyeol grinned at his friend.

"Chanyeol where are your manners?"Granny appeared at Chanyeol's side and lighgly
pinched his arm,she beckoned at the visitors as she opened the gate,"Come inside."

Thanks Granny,and good morning" The guys greeted.They were four other guys,beside Kris,they were all Chanyeol's batchmates.

Visiting him early in the morning only ment one thing....

"The reunion's at lunch right?At the usual dinner?"Chanyeol eyed them suspiciously.

"Nah,"You didn't check the group Chat,did you?They Change it to this morning."

"Then will have lunch at Dara's family restaurant.Zi tao grinned.

Chanyeol wanted to wipe that grin of for mentioning that name.Dara again.Hearing that name lowered his mood onve more.Ever since they arrived she was every where he looked.She would not even let him alone,
always clinging,always craving attention.

And she knew the game she was playing.

The door opened,and they all turned towards it.A very exhausted looking yet still very adorable Baek came out,squinting at them.

'Ah.'

Baek must have been wake up by the noise they made.Chanyeol discovered that Baek liked silence,especially in the morning.His roommate is like a machine that needed some warm-up before he gets started.

Baek stifled a yawn as he eyed the people infront of him.He looked like someone ready to crush anyone who dared cross his path.

Behind him,Kai came stumbling out too.

"Baek!nice to see you here!"Krus said,then he smirked."Did we disturbed your sleep?sorry."

Chanyeol kick his friend under the table.He knew that Kris did not mean his apology,but teasing Baek at this state would not do anything.
