CHAP 63

"Hi,Baek! You don't mind if I will barrow Chanyeol for a while,right?"Dara said with thay sickening sweet smile of hers.

Baek looked affronted,"I do mind act---"

"Dara!We're low on drinks!" One of the girls called out.

Dara mouthed a 'sorry' towards Baek and looked really sad Chanyeol tried to break free from her grasp,only for her to cling to his arm one more time and drag him away from Baek.

"Come on!Why are you both so slow"Dara's friend hollered at them.

Someones caught Chanyeol's other arm that made him looked back.He turned around and saw Baek's face close to his.Chanyeol tamped down the urge to kiss the other guy right then and there.

"Can we talk later?later?Once you're done with all of these?"
Baek give Chanyeol a fix steady look.

"Yes,"Chanyeol said,pouring out all his eagerness and feelings in just one word.

Baek smiled and blushed which in turn made Chanyeol smile too.
He smiled like a fool in love because he was.He felt like he could stand there and stare at Baek's face all day.

A strong pull on his arm brought him in reality.He's eyes met Baek's,and he said "later."

The restaurant Dara's family- owned was located by the beach.
When they reached the back room,Chanyeol took the cooler Dara told him to get while she stood in the background.

"There are boys there who can do it.You could have ask for Kris or Tao,"Chanyeol grumbled.

Dara gaze at him and smiled."No one would do.Only you."

The tune of her voice made Chanyeol paused.It felt like they were no longer talking about coolers.Chanyeol studied her.Dara looked the same when he first met her ---petite with short,wavy hair.

Her coquettish look remained the same after all these years.The same looked that hooked Chanyeol and the other boys their age.She resembles a princess,and everyone dreamed to be her knight.

Deapite her fragile appearance,
there was always something mature in her eyes.Chanyeol always felt that she was wise for her age that she was why her opinion always mattered to him.

But now,all he could see was a shwerd mind behind those eyes,
always calculating,always trying to take advantage of Chanyeol's feelings.

Why did he fall in love with this kind of person?

"Oh,come on.Stop it,Dara.We're never getting back together."
Chanyeol said sternly.

Big crocodile tears threatened to fall from her eyes,and Chanyeol just kifted his eyebrows at that.

He scoffed."What?Not that GD dummed you,you think you could crawl your way back to me.

"You've been saying some horrible things, Chanyeol!"As a tear fell from her eye,a look of shock passed throught her face.
"I've---I've realized how much I love you.I know,I was wrong to be swayed by GD when we were dating but---"

"Swayed?!"Chanyeol laughed dryly."That's how you're calling it,huh.Is that what you've been saying to your friends?Everyone with eyes knew that you were crushing on my best friend since we were kids.I was so stupid for not realizing that before."

"Of course not!I've always liked you!Anyway,I was young.I did stupid things!"

"And you're still doing them."
Chanyeol snorted."You like me because I was an easier catch,and you thought,you would have an easier time hanging out with GD if you are with me.More discreet too because no would suspect."

Dara was lost of words.When she collected herself,she rushly brushed the tears in her eyes."Why are you being so difficult?"

Chanyeol only stared at her as if the veil was lifted from her eyes.This was Dara everyone's princess.She was rich,beautiful and talented.The one who grew up pampered,with everyone telling her that she was the most beautiful human being ever to grace the earth.That the people in this small country was blessed to have her.

But Chanyeol only wanted to stay away from her claws.

"Stop deluding yourself,Dara.Get over yourself.

"I saved your grandmother!"

"Oh!wow you're using that against me?I'm thankful for what you have done,but that's it.You can't make me do things because you wanted me to.I'm not yout puppet."

With that Chanyeol left,leavinga livid Dara.

When he came back first thing that Chanyeol did was to look for Baek.But no matter where he looked,there was no sign of his roommate.

The guys who were swimming on the sea came back,and Chanyeol caught sight of Kai who was lounging around.He contemplated whether he wanted to talk to this guy and ask for Baek.He had mixed feeling about Kai. Chanyeol did not like how Kai had unknowingly wrapped his fingers around Baek,and hiw much this person took his friend for granted.

Above all,he hated how Kai was Baek's first love of his life.

Talking with Dara had akready sapped Chanyeol's energy.Facing another pesky person would further drain him.The only person whom he wanted to talk right now was Baek.

But where was he?

Chanyeol clicked his tongue as he thought when he met eyes with the last person he wanted to talk to.Kai smiled sheepishly and strode towards him.

'Isn't this great?'Chanyeol sighed.It seemed like there was no avoiding this person any longer.

"Hey!"Kai said.

Chanyeol jerked his chin in response and went straight to the point."Have you seen Baek?"

"Yeah,he didn't look good so I told him to go back and rest."

"What?Chanyeol knitted his eyebrows.Did some thing happen while he was gone?"He look fine earlier."

He seemed to have a headache.
And anyway,he was pale and look like he needed some rest."

Chanyeol hummed."Okay,thanks."
He turned to leave,but Kai called out to him.He face Kai,liffting his eyebrows.

Kai fidgetted under Chanyeol's stare."Thank you for-for
everything.And I'm sorry for barging into your trip."

It's fine.If you didn't come,Baek will be worried and would not enjoy the vacation anyway.He might even go back to comfort you."

Chanyeol was not trying to be sarcastic.He was just stating the facts.

.....or okay,maybe just a tad bit sarcastic.

Kai blushed."Yeah,I feel bad for Baek too."

Chanyeol was at the end of his patience.
