CHAP 64

What was Kai's point in telling him all this.?"If you're sorry,then you would stringing him along?"

Kai looked up,confused.

"Oh,please."Chanyeol said,rolling his eyes,"Baek sacrificed a lot of things for you.He was at the top of his class before you drag him to your nightly clubbing.He dropped everything every time you call him.He was basically at your beck and call."

Perhaps it was because of his talk with Dara,but all of his resentments came pouring out one by one.Though,he felt like telling all of these to Kai would not do anything good,but he was so tired of people meddling and involving them in their problems.

Kai gapped."I didn't know that."he whispered."I gues I really need to do a lot of reflecting.I apologized to Baek,but I need to apologized to you too.Anyway,I'll stay out of your way now."

Chanyeol frowned at the other guy."What do you mean?"

"I'm going back to the city tonight."

A sense of forboding came over to Chanyeol."Does Baek know?'Please tell me he's not going.'

"Yes,I told him last night."

"And?Will-will he come back with you?"Please please please.

Kai tilted his head to the side as if thinking."No,I don't think so?"

Chanyeol nodded,but he was not set at ease.

Baek wake up,feeling as if someone was drilling inside his head.

As he was waiting for Chanyeol to come back,he decided to walk  along the shore.The stillness of the surrounding,saved for the sound of crashing waves,lulled him to sleep,and all the emotional rollercoaster he had experienced in the past days came crashing down on him.He was suddenly tired and weary.

Kai came up to him,wanting to chat,but instead,he notes how pale Baek was.Baek did not resist and went back home first.The minute his head touch the pillow,he had already sunk to deep sleep.

When he woke up,he sat up groggily and massaged his forehead.His head ache was still there.

"Oh you're finally awake,"Kai said.

"What time is it?"Baek squinted,
adjusting his sight to the light.
"Why are you here what happened to the reunion?"

Kai smiled."A lot of things have happened.You've been sleep for a good five hours.You alway nap for a long time."

Baek chuckled."Shut up.Now tell me what I'd miss."

Kai told him that after Baek left,Kai also decided to go to the bus station and see if he needed to reserve a ticket.

"Seeing all this wonderful things in this place made me want to see Kyungsoo.I want to share these kind of memories with him.I felt like I need to see him now."

"So you basically eat and run at the reunion?Baek said smirking.

Yes Kai smiled sheepishly."Yeah.
they still have a lot of things planned,but without you there.I felt like I wa intruding to their party so I bailed out."

"Where's Chanyeol?"Baek had promise to talk to his roommate.

"He hasn't come back yet.Maybe they're not still done with the party.Speaking of Chanyeol,"Kai started,"I also had a talk with him.
Gosh,Baek,I didn't know you were such a bright student!also,why you didn't tell me when you have exams?He pressed a hand over hes forehead."I guess,that's my fault too."

Baek pursed his lips.
"Anyway,what are you doing now?

"I'm packing,"Kai gestured at his open bag.He picked it up again then paused."How about you?What will you do?Are you going to come with me or stay here?As soon as the words left his mouth,Kai widened eyes and waved his hand frantically."I'm not asking you to come with me this time!

"I'll help you pack.Then we'll go to the bus stop."

Chanyeol came back when the moon's already out.He was utterly exhausted.Not only did he not talk or see Baek,but he also had to face Dara's warth.

She went full-on diva mode and threw a tantrum-well maybe not the toddler type of tantrum,but she did cause a scene.Of course the girls blame him for being so crass with her.He dis not considee his feelings blah blah.It was such a mess.Untill someone stepped up and said that if Chanyeol did not want her,she should just accept it with grace.With that.peace was restored.

"How's the reunion Granny asked as Chanyeol greeted her in the kitchen.

"Epic,"Chanyeol said with a laugh."Where's Baek?"

"Oh,didn't he tell you?he left with Kai."

Baek walked around the town for a while after sending Kai off.Unknown to his friend,Baek already informed Kyungsoo that Kai would come back this time.He hoped that his friends would get together again.

"Let's...both do our best."Kai told Baek before he had boarded the bus.

A large crowd gathered in the plaza were a singing competation was being held.Baek stopped to watch the performances.He found a free spot and sat down.

While he was watching,he remembered to check his phone Kimy texted him,asking what he wanted for his birthday.He knitted his brows.While it was the custom for them to give each other gifts during birthdays,Kimy would usually give whatever she wanted to give,without consulting to Baek.So why bother now.

'What's this all about?'He replied then check the call log fourteen missed calls,from Chanyeol.With a start.Baek remembered that he did not leave any note for his roommate.He stood up abruptly and headed straight home.

The house was dark when he arrived.He stood infront of the door,shifting from one foot to the other.Granny might be asleep,but he was not sure if Chanyeol was at home.Baek could not tell f he was just inside his room because his room was at the back,and Baek could not clearly see the light.He walked to the hammock which was hung directly infront of the door and laid down as he thought of what he should do.

He had just gotten out his phone  from his pocket when he front door swung open.Startled,he sat bolt upright,his chest pounding.
Chanyeol stood frozen at the door staring back at him for what seemed like for ever,Baek and Chanyeol just stared at each other,dumb founded.

"I-,"Baek's mind was blank,so he started again."I thought you aren't home."

Chanyeol stared at him as if he could not believe to see Baek there."No,'I' thought 'you'aren't home."

"I just came back."

He took tentative steps towards Baek,his eyes never leaving the other guy.
