Baekhyun knitted his brows.

"Come on,you should have seen him!everytime we go there,he's also there with his friends."

The line's on Baek's forehead deepened.That was news to him.But then again,his world used to revolved around Kai.
though he could not help but wonder if that was where Chanyeol knew Baek's name.Now he was irritated to his past self for not paying attention.

His thoughts jolted back to reality when Kai exclaimed."Ugh.finally.
Kyungsoo is here."

Kyungsoo walk towards their table,sat beside Kai and nodded at Baek.Even if they did not seen each other for quite sometime,
they easily got engrossed in a discussion as if they had only seen each other the day before.
The three of them,talking and laughing,just like the old times.

"Are you sure it's okay?"Baek asked for the 9th time.He had been asking that question to Chanyeol and to himself ever since the day he met up with Kai and his roommate casually agreed to have Baek's friends for a sleep over.Anxiety filled Baek as the scheduled date came nearer.

Tonight was that night.

"Is it really'really okay?"

Chanyeol did not look at Baekhyun's direction and keep his eyes on the pan with his stir-fried vegetables  so Baek could not see what expressions he had."of course,it is.I woundn't say so if it's not."

"But---Baek paused,not knowing how to continue.He could not quite put into words the thing that bugged him.But one thing's for sure,It centered on Chanyeol.

There were times when Chanyeol was unusually quite and rather...
pensive.And it all started that day.Perhaps something had happened?Maybe Chanyeol was not in the mood to do to do other things or meet other people?Seeng a sullen Chanyeol made Baek sullen too.If he could do something about it.He would but he did not know what he needed to do.And it pained him to see his roommate like this,knowing that he might have caused it.

Except from the sizzling sound coming from the pan.silence pervaded the air.Chanyeol was busy keeping tabs of multiple pots and pans for dinner  while Baek stood on the sidelines acting as the assistant.This set up that they had started whit Baekhyun watching---hovering-- over his roommate's shoulder as the other cooked.
Then to make himself useful,he started handing seasonings.Now Chanyeol trusted Baek to hold a knife and prepare the ingredients with him.

Baek had gotten used to doing this that he would pass what was needed without Chanyeol saying anything.As he passed the soy sauce,Chanyeol threw him a grateful glance and lightly nudged
Baek's shoulder."It's fine,you worrywart."

"I'm not a worrywart."Baek pouted but he was secretly happy to hear a tinge of a usual Chanyeol in the others voice.
Chanyeol tasted the food and tilted his head to the side as if contemplating.He glanced at Baek who was watching him intently beside him and then to the spoon still in his hand."I feel like I'm missing something...."

Baek furrowed his brows.It was rare for Chanyeol to doubt his meal."Let me taste it."before Chanyeol could answer,Baek grabbed the other's hand with the spoon and eat the remaining half.
"Maybe a little more pepper and salt?"



But Chanyeol did not answer and stared at Baek with wide eyes.

"Chanyeol?"

"Yeol?"

"Oh,yeah,right,"Chanyeol coughed and turned away from Baekhyun
"could you,uh--check the coffee jelly in the fridge?"

Baek did what he had been told but when he turned around it was the same time when Chanyeol almost dropped the pot of rice.
Their rice cooker got  busted and they had not replaced it yet so they cooked their rice on the stove
using the pot from the rice cooker.But since it did not have any handle,they had to hold it on the edges.Chanyeol held the pot on one hand.It was heavy so it tilted sideways.

"Hey!You'll hurt---"

Before Baek could even finish his sentence Chanyeol winced and put down the pot with a clang.Dispite using a potholder,a part of his skin made contact with the hot pot.

Baekhyun rushed to his side."Are you hurt?He tried to take a look at Chanyeol's hand but the other hid it away.

Chanyeol give him a stained smile."It's fine it doesn't.

Baek open his mouth to say something when the doorbell rang.

With the sound of the doorbell,
Baek looked up from the direction of the door,sending an irritated look.Chanyeol turned back and busied himself with cooking.Baek took one last look at his room-
mate and reluctantly went to the door.

As Baek scurried to the door,he mentally check if everything was in order.He cleaned and dusted every corner of the house before his friend's arrival.This way,He not only manage to get his mind off Chanyeol but also made their house presentable.But he did take a long look over his shoulder as if he could spot a speck of dust from the living room all the way to the front door.

He wanted to laugh at himself for overthingking.And overacting as he did for Chanyeol's case.Baek sighed and open the door and was assaulted by Kai's wide grin.

"Good evening,"Kyungsoo said,
who remained stiff and formal beside Kai.

Looking at them like this,Baek could not still believe that these two were dating.They looked exactly how they looked when they used to hangout together.
What.when.where.why and how did Kyungsoo fall for Kai?He could not quite wrap his head around that yet.

"Baek your place is awasome!"
Kai whispered,failing to conceal his excitement.

Baek met Kyungsoo's eyes who wore the same amuse expression as him.It was Kyungsoo who spoke off their thoughts.

"You haven't been on the inside yet."

Kai turned to him,eyes wide.I know right.But it's just,yo know..."
He flailed and gesture widely at the sorroundings.It's going to be awesome inside too."

The other two chuckled at him as
Baekhyun  open the door to let them in.The sharp intake of breathe told him that Kai was just as taken by the inside as he was outside.Baek knew because he felt just like that when he first came here.He smiled to himself.Baekhyun back then could not be able to recognize the Baekhyun right now.
