Your POV:
"Did you have a good day baby?" I ask Allie, today was her first day at school and to say I shed a few tears is un understatement. But who wouldn't cry when their little girl was growing up right before their eyes?
"Yeah it was so fun Mummy! And I made a fwiend!" She replies in her cute little voice. God the days are so long without her, since she was born it's always been just the two of us, not that I minded.
I'm really glad she's making friends so quickly! I remember my best friend in school, we were inseparable, people used to say we'd end up married when we were older and maybe we would've if my family hadn't moved away. Damn I miss him.
"That's great honey, what's their name?"
"Harry. Can he please come over for dinner?!" Aww that's cute.
"Sorry, but we don't know his parent's number or anything, ask him on Monday though."
"Oh. Yeah." She seems really disappointed. "Well can we go play at the park then?" She asked so nicely and I don't want to let her down, even though it's getting kind of late...
"Sure Allie, but only a quick play ok?"
"Yay thank you!!"
I love being a Mother, I don't know who wouldn't enjoy it. Well actually, I know one person; Allie's 'father.' I wouldn't even call him that, after all he was never there for Allie or I, he left after I found out I was pregnant, some guy he was. It sucked at the time, but now, I wouldn't change anything if I had the chance.
Ed's POV:
"What flavour do you want lad?" I ask my son, it was his first day at school and I get the feeling he didn't have the best day. Though if he takes after his father it mightn't matter so much.
"Ummm, chocolate!" He answers rather enthusiastically, causing a few people in the shop to turn and look at us, sheeesh haven't you ever seen an excited kid?!
I order the same flavour for me, pay for them and soon we're sitting at the table enjoying our ice creams. Damn this shop really is the best one and I've been to quite a few!
Once we've finished and he's sufficiently covered in ice cream, I decide it's time to walk home.
"C'mon little man, it's home time."
"Aww but daddy! Can we go to the park first, please?" He's looking at me with those adorable puppy-like eyes, the same ones my ex used to say I had, back when things were simpler and and we were a happy little family of three. Sometimes I miss that, but any love we shared is well and truly gone now.
"Fine, but you've got to tidy your room when we get home." Like me he loves playing with Lego, unfortunately he doesn't love tidying his room up nearly as much as making the mess, I can't tell you how many times I've stepped on pieces of it at night when I'm tucking him into bed.
"Sure daddy, thank you daddy!"
And with that we're off to the park!
"Ooh it's Allie from school!" He suddenly screams.
Though, I must admit I am quite happy that he's made at least one friend. I know I wasn't exactly the most popular kid in school, I did have one really good friend though. It's amazing how someone can be such a massive part of your life and then suddenly you never see them again. I wonder how she's going.
"Come push me on the swing!" Two voices shout, one belonging to Harry and I assume the other is his friend, Allie.
"Coming!" I reply back and start walking over.
Your POV:
It can't be, can it? Oh my god!
I think Allie's friend's father is Ed, aka my best friend from school who I haven't seen for years.
*flashback*
"You were amazing Ed! Just like I said you would be!" I tell him with a smile.
"Thanks, I was really nervous I'd mess up the words or something!" He tells me and it's true, just before going on he was practically shaking with nerves, but now he looks ecstatic.
My face suddenly becomes serious as I ask him something. "Hey Ed, promise me when we're all grown up and you're famous we'll still be friends?"
"Sure, I promise....We've gotta watch the other students perform, but after that do you want to get ice cream?" Ed questions me while stuffing his hands into his hoodie's sleeves, a thing I've noticed he does when he's nervous. But why would he be nervous about this? Weird.
"I'd love to, Ed."
*end flashback*
But I guess some promises are made to be broken, it wasn't Ed's fault though. I did try to keep in contact with him, it never worked and eventually I gave up.
But to imagine that he could be right here is blowing my mind.
"A-are you Ed, Ed Sheeran?" Great, stuttering what a way to start.
"Yeah, I am. Are you a fan? Wait, you look familiar, shit! Are you Kailynn *(Y/L/N)??"
"Oh my god it's really you!" I'm freaking out right now.
I honestly never expected I'd ever see him again so this is totally amazing. I then remember the thing he said about me being a fan.
"You asked if I was a fan, are you famous or something??"
"Umm I'm kinda a singer...." He trails off at the end and I mentally high five myself, since I heard him sing for the first time I knew he had an amazing voice and could become a famous singer.
"Woah, that's amazing! What else has been happening in your life?" I'm very keen to know about how he's been all this time.
"Well it's a pretty long story, would you like to grab a coffee with me sometime?" Damn that was smooth.
"I'd love to, Ed".........
