Fuming.

Con didn't know a midnight kiss could leave him wanting to go full wolf.

No full moon in sight.

Con can forget about the potion for a night and trash the rec field.

He can't go home.

He can't stay at Autumn and Marty's.

He goes to the bar.

"Beer," he orders.

"Con, go home," the bartender says.

"It's not that late," he tells him. "Only 12:15. Do you want my money or not?"

"Should I call Eddie to pick you up?" the bartender asks.

"Don't call Eddie," he says. "Never call Eddie again. He's a sorry excuse for a best friend."

The bartender, a werewolf in his 30s, hands Con a bottle.

"What did Eddie do?" he asks.

"He fake-married Amber," Con answers. "But then they kiss at midnight right in front of me. He kept telling me to get over her and now they're not just fake married. They're falling for each other."

"How do you think he felt when he found out you slept with her?" the bartender asks.

"The same, probably," Con answers. "This is Eddie. He's not supposed to do stuff like that."

"Are you really going to end a lifelong friendship because Eddie kissed Amber on New Year's Eve?" the bartender asks. "Or fake married her, so she could stay in town and keep it safe?"

"But the bro-code," Con points out.

"There aren't a lot of friends like Eddie," the bartender says. "He takes you for who you are. Living with you can't be easy."

"Fine," Con says. "But I'm not happy about it."

"You don't have to be happy about it," the bartender says. "Just don't wolf out either. 'Werewolves of London,' not Duran Duran."
