Eddie stands at the menorah. He lights the candles and says the prayers. He picked up some latkes to stick in the microwave. Con bought a whole box of doughnuts.
"Happy Hanukkah!" Con shouts when he comes home. He drops the box of doughnuts on the table before taking off his coat and shoes.
"Thank you," Eddie says.
"You're not going to Marty and Autumn's for the first night?" Con asks. Eddie shakes his head. "You always do. What's wrong?"
"I thought I'd be planning a wedding," Eddie says. "I thought I'd be a happy couple like my brother and Autumn or Carter and Amber. I thought it would be Sabrina."
"You can't go into every relationship thinking they're the one," Con points out. "Or you'll just get disappointed again. Come on." Con grabs his coat. "We're going to Autumn and Marty's."
"We can't leave the menorah on if we're not home," Eddie points out.
"Then blow it out," Con says.
"I don't think you're supposed to bow it out," Eddie says.
"I'm going to Autumn and Marty's," Con says. "They probably have better latkes anyway. You don't want to see your nieces in their Hanukkah dresses? It'll be very cute. I can't wait to see Kyle on Christmas Eve. Come on."
"It should be fine," Eddie says. They put on their coats and shoes. Con grabs the doughnut box. They walk over to Autumn and Marty's and ring the doorbell.
"Chag sameach!" Con shouts. They let them in. Con places the box down. He notices Carter, Amber, and Kyle are there too. "Was I not invited?"
"We knew Eddie would bring you," Marty says. "You've always kind of been his plus one."
