LUZ SADLY WIPED THE BARS OF the window until a teacher started speaking. "All right, kids. Who wants to go on a field trip to the astral planes?" The baby class cheered as Luz solemnly watched from afar.
"I do..." Luz muttered, not feeling Ember's sympathetic stare on her.
"Luz!" Willow and Gus rushed to the barred window.
"Oh, my gosh! I missed you so much. Let me squeeze your faces." Luz started to squish Willow's cheeks.
"What's going on? We didn't see you two in any classes," Gus pointed out, looking up at the two girls.
"Principal Bump put we in the detention track for mixing magic." Luz replied as she released Willow.
"The detention track? You can't do anything in there." Willow frowned up at her.
"You'll learn less than you did before." Gus added, glancing behind him.
"No, I'm better than this. Please, you gotta help us break out." Luz frowned.
"Yeah, don't worry. We'll get you out, dead or alive!" Gus exclaimed, making Willow glance at Gus and shake her head, "Okay. Alive,"
"Aw, you guys." Luz heard a loud noise behind her.
"It's the teacher, gotta go!" Luz turned around to see Viney and Ember right in front of her, she gasped. "It's you!"
"Shh." Viney hushed them as she led them to the blackboard. She takes a piece of chalk and draws a rectangle with a key hole in the middle. Viney then pushed the chalk on the keyhole and the drawing parts from the blackboard.
"Whoa," Luz muttered as Viney climbed through. Viney then held a hand out towards the two as Ember excitedly takes it. Luz looked back at the sleeping teacher before following Ember. The door closes by itself. "What is this place?"
"This is the last room you two'll ever see alive." Viney poked her finger on Luz's chest, glaring. The three stood in silence before Viney smiled. "Ah, just messing with ya. I'm Viney."
"I'm terrified! Um, I mean... I'm Luz." Luz awkwardly smiled.
Ember popped up behind Luz and smiled joyfully, "And I'm Ember! But you already know that."
