IT WAS GETTING DARK on the Boiling Isles and Ember, Luz, and King were in the Living room relaxing.
"And here we have the most fearsome creature in the world, the king of demons." Ember smiles at her friend's antics, watching showing King trying to tear a sock. "Facing his natural enemy, the ducky sock," Luz said in a Low tone.
"Cue the dramatic music..." Ember muttered as she played a dramatic music track from her phone and King ripped off the sock, tearing the sock into pieces.
"Where are you now ducky sock!?" He yelled as he kept on hitting the shredded sock with his small hands as Luz lowers her phone and Ember stops the music.
"So, King, why'd you call us here again?" Ember asked as she laid her head on Luz's lap. Luz begins playing with her hair.
"Oh, yeah!" King gasps as he climbed onto the table, making cute noises while doing so, "Human Luz and Human Ember, you guys had been so obsessed with witchcraft that you haven't learned anything about my kind. Prepare yourselves for..." King pulled down a cloth from a board that revealed pictures of creatures. "Demons 101!!" he yelled, "Demons like me are grim tricksters of the twilight, creatures of sulfur and bones!" King was about to say something but Luz spoke over him.
"And cute little paws." Luz bit her lip, containing her smile as he looked at them.
"It's true, King," Ember confirmed and she giggled as he sighed.
He looks down at his paws. "And cute little paws... true." King sighed as he repeated what Luz said, "We live only to create chaos and misery. Our only weaknesses are purified water and passive‐aggressive comments... sometimes."
"Oh, you guys are sensitive." Luz cooed with a smile as Ember awed at the small demon.
"Even demons have inner demons," King puts his hands behind his back He took one photo off. We saw a picture of a pink creature that had a spikey shell on its back. It also had long sharp teeth "The most powerful demon of all is the Snaggleback. He's a—"
"Bad boy!" Luz cuts off King again, resulting in Ember lightly smacking her friend's arm.
"Luz, stop cutting him off." Ember scolded lightly, pointing her finger in Luz's face.
"Sorry, I just can't! He's too cute!" Luz exclaimed as she grabbed Ember's face and leaned her forehead to Ember's, smiling as their noses were almost touching. Ember and Luz both realized the proximity of their faces, pulling away as the flustered pink rises to their faces again.
