GUSPLACEDTHETOYONTOTHE ground, the four teens sitting in a square-ish circle with candles in each gap. "According to the conjuring books I've read, we say the incantation to make a connection with the doll." Willow told the three as she took Gus and Ember's hand, Gus taking Luz, Luz taking Ember's, and Ember taking Willow's.
"Figurine," Gus whispered, opening an eye to give Willow a pointed look.
"Moonlight, we call, we sing. Moonlight take this chance. Moonlight come tie the string. Moonlight start the dance!" Willow and Gus both chanted.
Ember and Luz glanced at each other, "Moonlight tie... string... I don't know the words!" Ember and Luz muttered to themselves.
Meanwhile, the moon was slowly hit the middle of the sky. The moon casted a bright blue light that shined over the house. Inside the house, the same blue light emerged from the small circle and scanned the inside of the house, flicking the lights away.
"That's your cue, little man!" Gus whispered to the toy as everyone opened one of their eyes. The toy was silent until it shook from the house rumbling.
Everyone looked around the house in wonder and fear. Hooty muttered incoherent words as his eyes glowed blue. Birds cawed as they flew away from the rumbling house. Everyone screamed or yelped from the sudden movement of the house and fell to the ground.
Suddenly, the ground that surrounded the house broke in two, revealing two chicken-like legs underneath.
"Guys!" Luz exclaimed as she got hit on the head by a book, stumbling back until Ember caught her by the waist. "Did the entire house just hiccup?"
"Little buff guy, what did you do?" Gus whimpered as he pressed the toy's chest.
"No, I think we might've animated the house by accident!" Ember groaned as she hung on the crest rail of the couch with a scared expression.
"The house?!" Luz exclaimed, quickly rushing out of the house before immediately stopping from how deep the fall was. Luz gasped as the others screamed from the sudden movement.
"Hooty, stop!" Ember screamed, placing her hands on Hooty's door.
"By the power of moonlight, I have risen. Hoot hoot." Hooty said in a flat voice.
