AT THE PLAYGROUND, a small child was playing in the sandbox. She had just completed her sand castle and smiled proudly at her 'big' accomplishment. But a sudden thud made the castle deflate, making the girl frown. "Ahem!" King called. The girl looked behind her and saw a looming monster on a building. "Listen carefully. You all have two choices. Grovel or—!" King was cut off by Owl Eda screeching at the kids who started screaming and crying and evacuated the playground. "Good enough. Whoa!"
Eda rushed to the tower that the kid King was fighting with was on. The kid started to hyperventilate as he stared at the beast. "Your time has ended! Mine begins!" King cried out as he raised his flag. The kid started to cry as he quickly slid down the slide and ran off. "Not so tough now, you spongy hatchlings. I will eat you!" King jumped off Eda and climbed up the slide.
"All who stood in my way are gone. I declare myself despotic ruler of this land. Nothing can stop the almighty—!" A huge bang sounded from the slide, "Huh?" Eda could be seen eating the side of the slide. "Hey. Whoa, whoa! No eating the throne." King scolded. Owl Eda looked at the slide hungrily. "No..." King glared at Eda. Eda took a big chomp out of the slide. "Stop that!"

"IT'S THE..." WILLOW TRAILED OFF.
"Bat Queen. I know. We kinda babysat her kids once. Don't worry. I got this." Luz dismisses as Ember watches Luz nervously. "Hiya, BQ. My, your hair is looking greasy. And your kids..." Luz chuckled. "they're as hideous as ever."
"You know, that could've gone worse." Gus muttered as Ember hit Luz on the head, giving her a 'What gives?!' look. The Bat Queen growled.
"Heh. So... Owlbert ran away and Ember and I need to get him back. I'm just gonna grab him and we'll be on our way." Luz started to walk to Owlbert, but was immediately stopped by the Bat Queen.
"To be careless with a staff, it's very serious. I protect him." Bat Queen says with a thick accent.
"And thank you for that, uh, but he belongs to Eda, the Owl Lady." Luz laughs nervously.And you owe her a favor, remember?"
"Owl Lady is careless." The Bat Queen spat, making the four flinch. "Her staff left her sight. Taken by humans who steal, hurt, frighten..."
"Huh?" Ember muttered softly as she gazed at Owlbert sadly.
"He told me all!" The Bat Queen's eyes shined yellow, Owlbert's eyes also turning yellow.
