Present Day...
She sighed as she placed the picture back on her bookshelf. Those were her happiest memories. She walked away from her desk and plopped down on her bed that had the covers newly washed.
"So much really happened that year." she muttered to herself.
"Weird isn't it?" Len came into her room, sitting down on her chair that belonged with her desk. "To you, it almost feels like yesterday that everyone was bawling their eyes out but for us, it was like centuries."
Mirai sat up straight, revealing a sheepish grin. "Yeah, it'll be hard getting used to all of this."
"Most of all, my crappy little brother is fourteen years old and is taller than me." She said with irritation. If she recalled correctly, Len was only seven before her operation.
"Are you still into video games?" She asked, wondering how his addiction played out throughout all these years.
Len nodded. "Yup, I moved from my usual mobile console to a PC setup. Wanna see my room?"
Mirai passionately looked him up and down. "Hell yeah!"
The boy then guided his sister to his room which was a couple doors down from hers. Opening the door, Mirai walked in first, admiring his upgraded PC.
"Pa and I built this last year. Beomgyu even paid for some of the parts!" He beamed, proud of how the process turned out.
The girl was taken aback from what he said. "Beomgyu? You still keep in touch with him?"
"Mhm, on the holidays he comes back home and would occasionally stop by our place."
The girl couldn't help but widely smile from this. "Aw, that's nice of him."
She still hasn't seen or spoken to her best friends yet. She wasn't even sure if they knew she woke up from that dreadful coma. It still made her relieved that they progressed normally when she wasn't there with them.
Len proceeded in explaining all of the functions of his PC while Mirai listened. She was again shocked at how open her brother is now. Before he would always seclude himself from the rest of the family, and burrow in his room. It then made her wonder.
How will the others react when they find out I'm back?
Before she could think about her question, her father cane in. "Mirai, there's people downstairs that want to meet you."
