I couldn't believe my eyes. Out of all the people that could've seen me in this dreadful position, it had to be Kang Taehyun.
The boy still had his school uniform on, but it shined much brighter under the sky's sunset. His hair was much messier while his complexion still seemed fair. It only took a matter of seconds for Mirai to realize she was staring too much.
"Yo" Taehyun calmly greeted as he peered down at the girl.
"What are you doing here? I thought your guys' practice already ended?" Mirai got back up to her feet and stood in front of him.
"It did, but I was the last one to leave the school. And you?" He asked, wondering why Mirai looked so exhausted.
She didn't want to mention her diary, thinking that he would only tease her about it. So she kept her explanation simple and vague.
"I left something really valuable inside the classroom. So I ran here in hopes that the school didn't already close"
Taehyun narrowed his gaze. "Something valuable..."
"But it doesn't matter anymore" She waved, keeping her head hung low. "I'll just go back home"
Even though Taehyun didn't understand the full situation, he already knew just by the girl's expression that whatever it was she forgot, it was gravely important to her. The last time she saw her this gloomy was back in the Music Program's anniversary debut concert. He made a promise to himself that no matter what, this girl would never reveal those emotions like that.
"Hey wait" he cried, grabbing her hand. The sudden reflex made Mirai jolt a bit.
"Have you thought of sneaking in the school?"
The girl blinked a couple of times, unsure if what he said was just her imagination. "Uh what?"
Was Taehyun actually thinking of breaking and entering?!
"Let's go check if any windows are open for us to pass through" He began to take off to check at the side of the buildings.
"Woah wait, that's way too dangerous! And what if there are no windows opened at all?" She then walked behind, trying to catch up to him.
"We break in, obviously" He said nonchalantly, in which Mirai's mouth dropped.
"Huh!?" She exclaimed. "There is no way I'm going to do this! You know how much trouble we'll be in if they found out we did that!" She grabbed Taehyun's arm to stop him from continuing further.
The boy looked back at the girl with a perplexed expression. "Didn't you just say you lost something valuable?"
