"Hey, Mirai, are you still here?"

The girl didn't realize how she became lost in her thoughts for a second. She hesitantly nodded, gripping onto the phone.

"Yeah, sorry. So he's not gonna be at school next week?" She asked. A part of her didn't want Beomgyu to answer her question though.

"No, not anymore" he replied back. By the tone of Mirai's voice, he knew that she must be lost in words.

"Look, I'm still really bummed out about it too. He's my best friend- no, more like a brother to me. I don't want to see him go either" he confessed.

Mirai took another pause before asking Beomgyu another question. "Did he go home already?"

"Not yet, he's still in school. Most likely talking with our principal about his transfer"

Mirai still couldn't accept the fact that this happened in such wrong timing. She's now starting to regret all of the decisions she made that led up to this moment. What would she do without Taehyun? He's now one of her most trustworthy friends and support. And now, he's going to be gone.

"I'll go and end the call then. Thanks for telling me about this" She said before hanging up.

"Yeah, of course. I wanted to make sure you knew about this first" From the other line, Mirai knew that the boy was smiling.

"Bye, Beomgyu"

"Yeah, see ya"

When her connection with Beomgyu ended, Mirai dropped her arm away from her ear, still holding onto that phone. She was spacing out while having her head tilted up to the ceiling.
"Taehyun... is not gonna be here anymore..."

The girl bit her lip before clenching onto her shirt. "What the hell is wrong with me!?"

Without a second thought of regret or hesitation, Mirai dashed out of the living room, put on her sneakers, and ran out of her house.

Mirai was at least glad that he was still within reach from her. If she was fast enough, she could meet him back in the campus and from there, she would properly tell him what needs to be said.

"Please, just this once. Still be there." She huffed out heavy gusts of air as she sprinted down the neighborhood.

After several minutes, Mirai was losing her running posture and her legs were becoming tight and stiff. She'd stumbled on the turns, but if she stops now, she wouldn't see Taehyun. He was the only motivation that gave her enough energy to keep going.

When the campus was within sight, she pushed herself harder and ran faster. Checking the doors, none were locked.

Making it inside of the builidng, she tried to calm herself down, but she kept releasing heavy breaths.
