"Wow!! Look at this place!" Mirai said as she stared at the gymnasium with such awe.
The whole gym was set up like a concert stage. Chairs were covering the whole court while the stage was heavily decorated by the Art Club. Even the walls and bleachers were decorated with fairy lights and colorful streamers.
"Hey, Mirai, let's go backstage to see the guys," Jinhee said, pulling her friend's arm.
The two walked behind the curtains and saw the Stage Committee rushing, into placing all the lighting and equipment into their proper places. It was just pure chaos.
"Jinhee! Mirai! Over here!" After hearing their names called, they shifted their gaze to the voice. It was Huening Kai holding onto a doorknob, gesturing for them to come inside. Without a second thought, they followed, wanting to get away from the mess that was happening on stage.
The room they entered revealed the boys chilling and calming down. But they were neatly dressed and had their hair and faces done.
"Hey guys, ya'll nervous?" Jinhee asked, taking a seat next to Beomgyu.
"Eh, maybe a little bit but I won't let it get the best of me" Beomgyu replied, stretching his arms forward.
"Don't worry! You will all do great, you got us to cheer you on!" Mirai added.
Taehyun then got up from his seat and patted Mirai's head. "Thanks for your support. Make sure you have your camera ready, just in case this guy gets voice cracks" he reminded, pointing at Yeonjun.
"Aye, great idea!" Jinhee exclaimed adding on to the fun.
"What the- knock it off, you guys!" The eldest twitched, causing us all to crack up.
As Mirai examined the room, she noticed how Soobin was looking very overwhelmed and stressed so she decided to comfort the boy.
"Hey, Soobin! You did such an amazing job of setting up this celebration. You should be very proud of yourself!" The girl exclaimed while flashing that bright smile of hers.
Those words really brought down the boy's tension and revealed his well-known bashful side. Soobin couldn't help but turn red in which Mirai didn't notice. "Hehe..thanks Mirai. I appreciate it" he sheepishly smiled.
"Of course!"
Meanwhile, out in a safe distance, Yeonjun and Huening Kai observed how uncomfortable their leader was, only making them share the same thought in their head.
Kai knew Soobin had a little thing for Mirai ever since he asked him what her name was during the beginning of the year. Because of that, Kai eventually told Yeonjun about it so they could both tease the heck out of him.
