Dinner was the usual, all the girls getting to know Charlotte a little more, they wanted to know everything about the girl before they introduced her to their fans, but they had to ask some sensitive questions. Charlotte helped Normani do the dishes, even though the girls told her not to, she wanted to be helpful. After doing the dishes all the girls went into the living room, Charlotte found her place between Ally and Lauren. Normani cuddled up to Ally's other side, and Camila and Dinah were cuddling on the other couch.
"So, what else do you want to know?" Charlotte asked as she mindlessly played with the rings on Lauren's fingers. Her back was slightly on Lauren's chest so she could see the others and her head was resting on Lauren's shoulder.
"Do you remember your parents?" Camila asked tentatively. Charlotte nodded. "Would you mind telling us about them?" Lauren asked, rubbing Charlotte's forearm gently.
Charlotte nodded and took a deep breath before beginning. "I don't remember their names...But from what I can remember they were really liked by everyone. My Mom was incredibly beautiful, she had really long dark hair and loved painting. She let me paint one of the walls in my Dads office when he was at work. She was just beautiful and the way she spoke was so...entrancing. She used to quote poetry and old quotes as if it was the most natural thing to her, she hated ginger and always made funny faces when she was on the phone." Charlotte chuckled slightly at the memory that was still very clear in her mind, even though silent tears were falling down her face. None of the girls wanted to interrupt, the caught in the balance of listening intently to Charlotte and fighting their own tears. "My Dad," she continued, "My Dad was probably the most Handsome man in the world. He was my super hero. He said that I inherited my eyes from my Grandma Michelle. He was so strong and he'd always read me a story before I went to sleep, even if her was working late he'd call the house phone and read to me that way. He had really light hair which he hated by my Mom loved it, she said it made him look more tanned instead of really pale like her. They were in love. Like the real movie love. The way they looked at one another, the way my Mom would smile if she caught him staring at her. He used to joke saying he didn't know who to stare at because he was living with the two most beautiful women in the world. My Mom would blush at his compliments even though he told her at least once a day she was beautiful she would blush...O-one day they had to work at the office late. They called me just before they left work...T-they told me that they love me and no matter what happens they'll always be there. It w-was like t-they n-new that they were g-going to die...A drunk driver hit them on the way back, they died in the crash, holding each other's hand." Charlotte sniffed her way through explaining her parents death, the girls were now crying and Lauren had pulled her closer to her chest.
"I lived with my Grandma for a little while, but she died of a heart attack. Then I had to live with my Uncle." Charlotte shuddered at the mention of her Uncle. "He abused me in the worst ways. Touching me when I was asleep, hitting me, throwing things at me. I knew it was wrong but I was so frightened that I couldn't tell. A few years later the police came and took me away, arresting him. I remember that night so clearly. I ran out of the house and immediately bumped into a cop. Then a lady placed me into a car and gave me a really rough towel. I remember watching the cops pulling my Uncle out of the house, he was thrashing around and screaming that he was grieving and he couldn't be held accountable for anything because of that. Then I was taken to the Orphanage." Charlotte took a deep breath, wiping her tears away before finally letting the girls in completely.
"I was adopted pretty quick, by this nice couple. Their son was away at baseball camp when they took me home. Everything was great until he came back. He did everything my Uncle did to me...J-just more t-touching. H-he raped me a few times before I called the police and was taken back to the Orphanage. I was taken then brought back so many times. I had my fair share of beatings, and whenever I cried or spoke I was constantly told to shut up, I had that yelled at me since I was with my Uncle. Then suddenly I stopped getting adopted, and I was forgotten. I never let anyone in because they didn't want a kid with baggage." Charlotte explained. "I thought I was going to be in that place forever, or I'd take away the pain like a few kids before me have done. But I found you guy's music and I wanted to stay, I wanted to meet you all. Now you've taken me in and I couldn't be happier." Charlotte sighed contently, before all the girls attached themselves to her in a group hug that lasted a good while as the girls tears slowly stopped streaming down their faces.
