The album has dropped and it was a huge hit. Everything went from zero to a hundred very quickly, and the six girls were being whisked off to various places for album signings, performances and interviews.
Charlotte tried her best to stay out of the spotlight, she didn't want to become annoying and have the Harmonizers hate her. Because even though Lauren said never to let people get to her, she had read comments and she had relapsed, only this time it was on her hips and stomach. The girls didn't notice because of how busy everything was, but they made sure she felt okay, and cuddled her at night, not wanting her to run off again.
It was another interview. Charlotte begged Lauren for her not to come on stage, but the interviewer had other ideas. "So where is young Charlotte?" He asked. It was in front of a small audience too, making Charlotte's anxiety rise a little as she mess with her bracelets that covered her scars.
"She's back stage." Lauren smiled, hoping that the mad wouldn't ask for her to come on stage with them, but unfortunately, they weren't that lucky.
"Can she join us?" He asked, the crowd cheered and Lauren looked as well as the other girls to see Charlotte shaking her head vigorously no. "Not to be rude, but no." Normani spoke before Lauren. The interviewer frowned and started complaining. And the Harmonizers in the crowd stood up for Charlotte, as did the girls.
"My daughter has nothing to do with our album release. She's not the person you are meant to be interviewing. She isn't coming out on stage." Lauren snapped. The crowd cheered and the interviewer went very red and continued with questions.
A few minutes later it was over, and Charlotte quickly ran on stage to hug the girls, getting an aw from the audience. "You guys did great!" She complimented. "Thanks little lady!" Normani said, as she hugged back tightly. "Right, let's go get some food shall we?" Ally asked. They all nodded and of course, they went to Waffle house.
Charlotte wasn't sure where they were anymore. But it was slightly colder than everywhere else they had been, even though it was nearly February, it was still colder than L.A.
After waffle house, they went back to their hotel room, Lauren had been on the phone somewhere since they had gotten back, so she was currently cuddled up to Camila, well, she was laying on Camila with her head on her chest as Camila stroked her hair and read a book, she wasn't sure what book it was, but Camila was completely engrossed in it.
Dinah was asleep on the other bed in the room, and Ally was probably in her room with Normani either sleeping or on the phone.
"Cammy?" Charlotte mumbled against Camila's chest, the older girl hummed in response, "What's wrong with Lauren?" She asked, Camila shrugged and sighed, "Family I think."
Camila didn't exactly know why Lauren was on the phone, but she knew her parents were trying to convince her to hand Charlotte over to their custody, claiming that Charlotte needed a stable home and adults in her life. It was an argument Lauren had been refusing to loose. But not loosing added more unneeded stress.
A few more hours passed until Charlotte went back to the room she was sharing with Lauren. To her surprise Lauren wasn't in their room still, so she quickly grabbed her clothing and went into the bathroom to have a long shower.
Even after her long shower and doing her before bed routine, Lauren was still nowhere to be seen.
Charlotte frowned but decided against going to look for her, and instead crawled into the unused bed and allowed her self to fall asleep with the T.V on, providing light and noise to soothe her to sleep.
Lauren hung up her phone and wiped the remaining tears in her eyes. Her beloved Grandmother was sick, more sick than she was during Christmas. And she knew that she couldn't not be there when she died, that wasn't an option.
She quickly called the girls and told them to meet her in the lobby, where she told the the whole of what was happening.
"Just go Lauren okay? We'll sort everything out we promise." Ally smiled as they all group hugged. "What about Charlotte?" Dinah asked, "is she staying or going with you?"
"I'm going to bring her, my Grandma wants to see her again." Lauren sighed. Her Grandma and Charlotte got close over Christmas, and she knew Charlotte would take this hard, that was the worst thing.
"I think she's asleep in your room." Camila smiled warmly. Lauren nodded and hugged the girls one last time, "I better go get her."
Lauren quickly went up to her hotel room, she pushed open the door to see the T.V was playing some old movie, and Charlotte was fast asleep on her bed.
Their flight wasn't until the morning, so Lauren locked their hotel room door and went around the room quietly, packing up things in order to be able to go straight away when morning comes.
Charlotte was still fast asleep even when Lauren was done packing. The older brunette sighed and walked over to her daughters sleeping form.
"Mom?" Charlotte whispered hoarsely. Lauren's heart stopped beating at that word. Charlotte never called her Mom before, even though Lauren had told her plenty of times she didn't mind being called Mom.
With probably the biggest grin, Laure laid down next to Charlotte, and continued running her fingers through her dark locks. "Yeah baby, it's me." Lauren whispered. "What's going on?"
"We have to fly back to home." Lauren sighed, watching as Scarlett's features turned confused. "Why?"
Lauren took a deep breath. "My- my Grandma is really sick..." Charlotte noticed the growing pools in Lauren's eyes, and immediately climbed on top of her in order to comfort her. The action made Lauren giggle slightly through her tears. "She wants to see us, just in case." Lauren managed to choke out, Charlotte remained silent and just nodded. She understood loss and death all to well. And she knew Lauren loved her Grandma more than words.
"Go to sleep..." Charlotte whispered, and very quickly the two did.
The flight and trip to the hospital was quiet. Once at the hospital they saw Lauren's family. All waiting inside the room her Grandma was in, talking to her as her condition deteriorated.
"Ah Mija!" Her Grandma exclaimed as Lauren walked in. They exchanged words in Spanish that Charlotte didn't understand, as Lauren walked over and greeted her Grandmother, allowing Charlotte to sit in the corner with Mike, who immediately picked her up and held her tightly.
"Hey little princess..." He whispered. Charlotte nodded and snuggled further into his chest. She didn't sleep well, nor did Lauren, even though the older girl slept on the plane Charlotte remained awake, and the lack of sleep was catching up.
"Where's Charlotte?" Her Grandma asked. Lauren looked around and saw Charlotte dozing off on her Fathers lap. "She's sleeping on Papi." Lauren whispered.
"She's a good girl Mija. Why is she so sad though?" Her Grandma was very good at reading people, and obviously she could sense how sad Charlotte had been during the holidays.
"It's complicated Grandma..." Lauren sighed, tearing her eyes away from Charlotte. Her Grandma nodded and slowly closed her eyes, "I'm tired Mija, go get some rest."
