"So tell us about you?" Clara asked Charlotte.
Everyone was now sat eating dinner, Charlotte didn't know the girls had a large dinning room, but they did. It didn't consist of much, there was just a large table in the middle of the room that luckly had eleven chairs around it. Sitting between Normani and Dinah, Charlotte stabbed at her chicken, having lost her appitite a while ago.
"Well, what would you like to know?" Charlotte asked timidly. Her mind seemed to be working a lot slower ever since her and Lauren's talk in the treehouse. She didn't know why, but ever since then she just wanted to visit her silence once again. It had been a while since she'd last been mute. She almost missed it, talking so this much was tiring for her, it gave her a headache to say the least.
"What are your hobbies?" Mike asked. Charlotte thought for a few seconds before answering. "Climbing trees, reading and drawing." Charlotte replied simply. "Climbing trees isn't a hobbie." Taylor sneered. She'd been odd to Charlotte ever since she and Lauren showed up in the house again. But, she didn't want to assume or make a deal out of anything, so Charlotte let it go. "Well then, it's just reading and drawing." Charlotte shrugged. Getting a small smile off Mike and Clara. "Are you any good at drawing?" Mike tried to keep the conversation going, wanting to get to know his rather closed off Granddaughter. "I'm-" "She's really good at drawing." Camila spoke up. "She's got a talent." Lauren tuned in, smiling at Charlotte from the other side of the table.
"I'd love to see one of your drawings. To see if the girls are right." Clara smiled, Charlotte was hesitant to reply. It took a lot just to let the girls see her small works of art. Did she really want to show Clara and Mike. "I'm not sure..." Charlotte mumbled. She cursed at herself for speaking so quietly and weakly. "Girls have probably over talked your talent." Taylor whispered, though, it wasn't very discreetly. "No, she really is good." Normani defended the girl next to her, but she was to busy staring at the food in front of her to care. Conversation seemed to flow normally after that. Everyone getting the message that Charlotte didn't really want to talk to anyone. They were all catching up, and Charlotte tried her best to avoid glares from Taylor, and the looks of disapproval from Lauren at how quiet she was being, but she didn't care. Her mind was fogging over and much like in the drawing she drew earlier, all her insecurities were looming over her, and she was to at war with her mind to pay attention.
But an elbow to the ribcage from Dinah snapped her out of her daze. "Huh?"She asked, looking up to Dinah. "Can you help do the dishes?" Lauren asked. She sounded slightly ticked off at Charlotte's lack of attention. Nodding meekly and ignoring Taylor's evil smirk, Charlotte helped carry the dishes into the kitchen. Where her, Lauren and Camila did them, as everyone else went back into the living room.
"What's wrong?" Camila asked softly. Noticing the distant look in Charlotte's eyes. "Nothing..." She mumbled, "I'm fine."
"The hell you are, what's wrong?" Lauren asked. Her tone was a lot harsher than Camila's, making the two others wince slightly. "Lauren..." Camila warned. "No, Camz. What's wrong Charlotte? You said you were fine in the treehouse, so what's changed within that two minute walk from there to being back in here?" Lauren snapped slightly. "Nothing, why does there always have to be a problem. I'm a quite person." Charlotte tried to fight back. But she was growing tired, and her lungs seemed to tighten. "Because there is always a problem when it comes to you." Lauren yelled. Camila pulled Charlotte into her front, her hands on her shoulders in a protective way. "Lauren calm dow-" "Camila enough. It's not her being quiet, there's something wrong and your being stubborn. You're a teenager Charlotte. Act like one, not like a stroppy five yearold, Iknow you're not used to not being in the centre of my attention, but they're my family! I haven't-"
"You think this is about getting your damn attention?!" Charlotte yelled. "I went into the treehouse so you could be with your family! I was perfectly fine, but you followed me! I'm not some dog that's begging for attention Lauren. And since I am a teen, that means I'm old enough to go out on my own. So I'm going out!" Charlotte stated, rushing past a stunned Lauren towards the front door. She ignored the Jauregui's stares as she grabbed her converse and put them on.
