Chapter 59

They arrived at the hospital in L.A absolutely exhausted. Lauren had to carry in Charlotte since the girl had fallen asleep during the car ride and Lauren didn't want to wake her up knowing that Charlotte managing to sleep over three hours was very rare these days.

But once in the hospital room, Lauren had to wake Charlotte up in order to make sure the girl didn't react badly to any of her new nurses or Doctor.

"Charlotte...Come on baby girl wake up." Lauren peppered her face with feather light kisses all over her face, making the small 13 year old in her arms stir awake.

"What Lolo?" Charlotte asked in the most adorable voice Lauren had ever heard. "You have to meet your Doctor." Lauren explained.

Charlotte nodded sleepily and removed her legs from around Lauren in order to stand up and greet her new Doctor.

"Hi Charlotte, I'm Doctor Harper." She couldn't be older that 32 and had long blond hair that was up in a slightly messy bun and had honey brown eyes.

Charlotte waved a little before backing up into Lauren's body a little more. Of course, Dr Harper smiled understandingly before introducing the two nurses.

"This is Nurse Phelps." Dr Harper suggested to the slightly younger Lady who had ombré brown hair. "And this is Nurse Stevens." She was rather pretty with wavy short dirty blonde hair. She stuck out her hand for Charlotte to shake but she simply looked down and held Lauren's hand a little tighter.

"Oh, shoot. Sorry I forgot." She suddenly blurted out, getting a disapproving scowl from Dr Harper. "Why don't we leave you to get situated and I'll come back in a few minutes to run some tests okay?" Dr Harper asked, Lauren nodded and soon the trio left them in the hospital room.

"You okay baby girl?" Lauren asked, noticing that Charlotte hadn't moved away in the slightest. Charlotte shook her head, "You'll stay with me during all the tests right?" Charlotte asked. Lauren nodded immediately. "Of course I will, don't you worry about that."

Charlotte nodded before slipping off her shoes and climbing onto her hospital bed and cuddling up to Lauren as they waited for Doctor Harper to come back.

"Alright," The blonde said as she walked into the room. "Dr Murphy called me yesterday to inform me on Charlotte's memory gain. But we're still going to keep her on her medication and vitamins since it's early days, but we'll lower the dosage. Mainly, all we need to do right now is take some blood, do a cat scan to make sure you have no other trauma to your head, x-Rays to make sure your ribs and arm is healing correctly and also check certain scars to make sure they aren't infected and unfortunately we have to check the abrasions down below too." Dr Harper spoke formally. "Can I stay with her during all those?" Lauren asked and Dr Harper immediately nodded. "Of course, and all the nurses will be female." Dr Harper insured and Charlotte seemingly relaxed a little more.

"Right, so if you can give me your arm Charlotte, I just need to find a good vein."

After nearly 4 hours of tests, Charlotte was finally allowed to rest.

She was fast asleep in her hospital bed with another I.V in her arm and cuddled into Lauren as the older girl texted her family that had been staying with the girls in their L.A home. Clara was coming to visit tomorrow and Lauren was incredibly grateful for how supportive her family had been. They constantly called to make sure Charlotte was okay and they were relieved when Lauren informed them on her memory return.

"Lauren?" Charlotte's sleep laced voice brought Lauren out from her texting trance to see Charlotte was still in the same position but had her eyes open.

"What's up baby girl?" Lauren asked carefully. "I can't sleep."

Lauren frowned and quickly texted her Mom goodnight before giving all her attention to Charlotte. "Well why's that?" Lauren asked softly as she rolled onto her side so she was facing Charlotte. The raven haired girl shuffled a little closer and out of reflex Lauren wrapped her arm around her. "It's like I can feel them touch me still..." Charlotte whispered, and Lauren immediately understood what she was talking about.
