Lauren sighed as she walked in on Olivia, Sofi and Camila cuddled up on Charlotte's hospital bed.
One week had passed.
Lauren smiled weakly at the adorable sight, and sat in the familiar red chair beside Charlotte's bed and once again took her daughters hand it her own as she traced patterns on the porcelain skin.
"Hey Charlotte..." Lauren spoke softly. She didn't always have conversations, she sometimes just let her know she was there or going again for a few minutes.
The same Nurse who Lauren spoke to the first time she saw her, Nurse Carter, was now Charlotte's personal nurse. Lauren got along well with the bubbly, yet down to earth lady and had requested her to stay on during Charlotte's recovery, since Carter had spoken to Charlotte also. And Doctor Murphy, the old grey haired Doctor was also fully invested in Charlotte's recovery. According to him she had improved, her brainwaves were reacting to voices and she was getting stronger, but they just needed her to wake up before they could confirm anything.
Nurse Carter walked in and pointed to her watch, letting Lauren know that the trio on the bed had to leave since visiting hours were over. Lauren nodded and smiled as she watched Carter walk back out and back to her other businesses. Lauren sighed before standing up and nudging Camila awake. The two had definitely got closer during this awful time, and Lauren couldn't be happier about it.
"Camzi, wake up." She whispered. Making her bandmate stir. "Hm? What?" Camila yawned. "You have to go, visiting times are over in three minutes."
Camila nodded and sighed, "Will you help me carry the girls out to my Mom's car?" Lauren nodded and stepped out of the way so Camila could kiss Charlotte's forehead and get of the bed before picking up Sofi.
Lauren bent down and kissed Charlotte's scar on her hairline. "I'll be back soon baby girl." Lauren whispered, before picking up Olivia and walking out the hospital with Camila.
"How you doing Lauren?" Camila asked seriously as they stood waiting for Sinuhe to show up. "I just need her to wake up. The minute she does, I'll be fine. I'm so tired of everything being unclear and unknown. I want to see her eyes again and see her smile. I miss my baby girl." Lauren admitted sadly as Sinuhe pulled up.
"She'll wake up Lauren." Camila smiled. "It's just going to take time."
But time turned into another two weeks.
Ivy had visited multiple times, she even brought her younger sister Emily to come visit. Charlotte and her had discussed the redheads younger sister briefly before, and the girls were glad to be around such a happy soul who spent the entirety of the two hours she was there complimenting them and their voices. Ivy was looking rough, she was getting hardly any sleep and she was constantly calling Lauren or one of the girls for any news, but Lauren was unsure how to tell her the news she had received moments ago.
Dr Murphy walked in and did his usual tests before pulling Lauren outside and into his office while Nurse Carter refilled Charlotte's I.Vs.
Lauren sat on the uncomfortable chair in front of Doctor Murphy's desk as he sat down on the one on the other side. "We need to talk about Charlotte." He began. Lauren gulped and looked down nervously at her hands.
"We've compared her test results to other Coma sufferers, and I'm glad to inform you within the next week at most, Charlotte will wake up."
Lauren couldn't hold back to sob of relief that shook her body. "But, there are things you'll need to understand." Dr Murphy spoke a little louder over Lauren's sob. She nodded and wiped her eyes before looking at him intently.
"She may have memory loss. And given the situation she was in before this coma, she may react badly to touches and people. When she wakes up, it may be best at first just to have us three in her room. She will be traumatised in many ways Lauren, the way she feels about people may have been affected." He spoke solemnly.
Lauren sighed, she knew something like this was coming, she wasn't naïve enough to think everything would be as they were before, even though she wished they would be.
But her little sunshine would be awake soon and that's all she could ask for.
"Okay. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you. May I go back now?" Lauren asked. Dr Murphy nodded and Lauren quickly made her way back to Charlotte's room.
She sighed and sat down in the usual place before taking Charlotte's hand. "Hey monkey." Lauren greeted sweetly, "It's me again. I'm surprised that you're not sick of me yet." Lauren chuckled ever so slightly.
"So, I think you should know that I found an amazing hotel in Brazil we could stay in. It could just be us going, or the girls could come, or my family. Whatever you want we'll do. I want to see you smile again, it's been so long now, and I can't wait." Lauren sighed.
"You know, the two ladies that found you, they want to visit you again. Tegan is absolutely hilarious, and Megan is just a complete oddball that loves Shakespeare. You'd like them, and their dogs. I think you'd love Kody and Rufus. Rufus is really playful and hyper, and Kody is just a huge cuddle monster. You can meet them when you wake up, Tegan and Megan are really worried. In fact, near enough every Harmonizer is worried about you, so's Taylor Swift, Simon Cowell, and even Ellen Degeneres, she spoke about you on her show and also wants to meet you. So many people care about you Charlotte, and the moment you wake up everyone will be so happy and better again. Please wake up soon, we need you here. I miss cuddling you." Lauren concluded before placing a sweet kiss on one of Charlotte's scars on her arm before allowing sleep to take over her body.
