You waited for what seemed like hours for Kuroo to return home to you. After checking your phone constantly in hoped that he had went somewhere and used their phone, but nothing showed up.
After sitting in the living room, drowning in your thoughts and tears, you finally decided that you weren't gonna get any sleep and decided to read a book.

It's been a long time since you felt this wide awake at such a late hour.
Back in America, so many things were happening that there were many nights when you couldn't sleep.

Diving into a book and try to escape reality is what you craved the most right now.
Everyone else in the apartment was fast asleep as soon as their head hot the pillows, and you felt happy for that as you didn't want anyone hearing the argument you had with Kuroo.

Yes you felt guilty and yes you regret not telling him sooner. He made a good point, you both were a team.
His voice rang through your head as you read the same sentence several times in your book.

It was going to be a very long night.

After about another half and hour, your phone went off with a text message from someone.
Picking it up and checking who it was, you felt relived.

Kenma: He's with me.
Was all it said.

You sighed. You were happy to know that Kuroo was somewhere safe and warm right now. The worst thing that could of happened was him getting hurt or freezing due to the nearing cool temperatures.
You didn't even bother to text or call Kenma as you knew Kuroo needed his space and you respected that.
Besides, if something was seriously wrong, Kenma would of called and not texted.

You went back to reading your book for a long time, till you noticed that the sun was starting to rise. A hint of pink and blue shining from the clouds, letting everyone know that it was a new day.
It was this moment when you realized how long you've been up for.
Getting flashbacks from back in America when you were trying to prove your parents were crooks and pulling all nighter and downing pints of coffee each day to make it happen. To get Kahori into your full custody.

You neatly tucked your bookmark to where you left off and let out a yawn.
Your body was beyond exhausted but you wouldn't be able to sleep knowing Kuroo wasn't by your side.
Instead, you went for, what was probably your tenth trip to the bathroom that night and decided against sleeping all together and to just make coffee for yourself.
Kahori would be awake at six to get ready for school and Kei and Tadashi would probably sleep in since they had a couple drink last night.
You groaned when you remembered the offer to them about driving them home.

You just hoped that Tsukishima didn't have morning classes, although if he did, he wouldn't of stayed the night.

You were currently waiting for the hot water to boil when you heard the floor creak behind you.

"You didn't sleep did you?"

"Good morning Kei, sleep well?"

"Look at the bags under your eyes, you either didn't get much sleep, or didn't sleep at all."

"The second one..."

"Where's Kuroo?"

"At Kenma and Ukie's..we got into an argument last night and he left for some space..."

"Want me to talk to him?"

You shook your head as you poured the hot water into your mug and stirred your instant coffee, drinking it completely black.
"He'll come home eventually..I know he will...right?"

Kei let out a loud huff through his nose. "He will..If he doesn't I'll go over to hm and kick his ass."

You chuckled slightly. "When do you guys need to be home?"
