"Y/n?" Kuroo shook your awake.
"Baby please wake up."You fluttered your eyes open.
"What time is it?" You groaned."I have to go."
"Go? Go where?" You slowly sat up in bed.
"My mom.. She's in the hospital.. They just called me.." He said with a shakey voice.
"What!" You were now wide awake. "I'll come with you."
He shook his head. "No it's okay, I just wanted to tell you where I was going."
You cupped his face. "I'm coming with you."
He nodded slowly as you pulled your hand away.
You quickly threw on a change of clothes and followed Kuroo out the door. You quickly sent Kahori a text telling her where you two went for when she woke up.
Judging from the darkness outside, it was still late at night.
You looked at your phone again and read: 3:23am.Kuroo had quickly gotten into the car with you trailing behind him.
He drove fast towards the hospital, you wanted to tell him to slow down, but you knew his mind was somewhere else and you didn't want to upset him.
When you finally arrived, Kuroo had ran into the hospital leaving the car on.
You reached over and shut the ignition off and followed in after him.You saw him quickly talk to the front desk but then bolted down to the emergency rooms.
You followed after him while telling the front desk that your also family.
When you caught up with Kuroo, he was frozen in the doorway.
You tried to peak over his shoulder to see what was wrong.
After a beat, Kuroo fell to his knees.
His sobs could be heard throughout the hospital.
"Mom." He cried out.Your eyes went over to her bed. Soon your heart felt like it was gonna fall out of your chest.
She was laying there, with a white sheet over her body.
..
...
....
She was gone. You didn't know what to say, or what to do.. You had just talked to her on the phone with Kuroo, everything seemed fine.
But that's the thing of heart disease...heart attacks are unpredictable.
You felt a presence behind you, it was the doctor.
He put a hand on your shoulder and looked down to Kuroo who was crying. The doctor stepped inside the room and stood in front of us.
"Are you her children?"
"This is her son.. I'm his wife." You told the doctor.
You felt sick and dizzy like you would faint any second. But you had to be strong for your soulmate.. He needs you."Okay... I like to start off and say that I am sorry for your loss. It was sudden."
"Heart attack?" You asked the doctor, although you already knew the answer.
"Unfortunately yes...she actually came here yesterday, complaining about chest pains so we admitted her to observe her. Unfortunately we were notified about her passing a few minutes ago, which resulted in calling her emergency contact."
You nodded.
You decided to do the talking since Kuroo was in no shape to do so himself."Was she sleeping?" You asked, looking over to her.
"Yes.. She passed in her sleep.."
She had a heart attack in her sleep...I'm so sorry Tetsurou...
You looked down to Kuroo and then back to the doctor.
"Could you give us some time to say goodbye?""Of course." The doctor bowed and stepped outside the door.
You kneeled down to Kuroo.
He looked into your eyes with tears streaming down his face.
His eyes looked empty. You wrapped your arms around him and held him tight.
You let him cry on your shoulder as you rubbed small circles on his back. You fought back tears.
You didn't want to also be crying, you wanted to be strong for Kuroo. After about ten minutes of crying, Kuroo pulled away and tried to stand up.
His legs were shakey and weak, which lead you to helping him walk towards his mother. He had fallen to his knees again, gripping into the sheets. He had started to cry once again.
This time he yelled. You moved to close the door so it wouldn't echo through the halls again as he kept yelling in pain.
His mother was his hero. The woman who was always there for him.
The woman who nurtured him and loved him.
She was the one who never judged him or forced him to do anything.
She was the woman who opened her home to you with open arms when you got kicked out.
She was the one who always had a smile on her face.
But now she was gone. And Kuroo felt an emptiness in his heart.
You walked back over to him and put your hand on his shoulder.
He continued to scream and cry.
You wanted nothing more than to to take his pain away. You kneeled down to his level.
"Tetsu baby? Would you like a minute alone?"He looked over to you and nodded his head slowly.
As much as you didn't want to leave.
You knew he needed this. You gave him a kiss on the cheek before taking your leave.
You closed the door behind you and finally let the tears fall.
There was this feeling of guilt bursting inside you.
You knew she wasn't doing well and you didn't yell Kuroo.
She asked you not to and you kept it a secret.
Now.. You're fiance is hurting and you feel guilty.Maybe if you told him he would of spent more time with her?
Maybe if you told him he wouldn't be screaming?
Maybe if you told him, she would of felt more comfortable calling him when she had chest pains and could of been there for her yesterday? You fell to the floor with your back against the door.
You let the tears fall and didn't stop them, even with all the stares. You didn't care. You wished her life wasn't taken away so sudden.. You wished she lived longer to see her only son get married.. To hold her a grandchild when the time was right..
You didn't want to accept that she was gone...After a few minutes, you had collected yourself and noticed there was someone standing just in front of you.
You blinked away the tears and narrowed your eyes.
Is that?... Kuroo's dad?
A/N:

Heart disease runs in my family and unfortunately a few years ago, it had taken my father's life.
I just wanted to write and say that if anyone is going through anything or knows of a family member who is going through something, you are not alone and stay strong! Keep your head up!
Things will get better. So much love for all of you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
