It was currently the next day and Akaashi had called to meet up with you. Which resulted you and him at his house, as well as Bokuto.
"Wait what?"
"I got the job! And they want to meet you too!" Keiji smiled.
You shook your head. "Wait hold up for a second."
"See Keiji! I knew she would be excited!" Bokuto smiled.
Akaashi smiled to his husband and gave you a piece of paper with an address written on it.
"Go here tomorrow at nine. They told me that they read your last manga and want to hire you!"You felt your world spinning.
Akaashi told you that during the week, he has been hustling to find himself a new editing job and just so happened to land a perfect one for you and him. You had no idea that he was also working hard to get you hired with him.
He told you that every interview he went to, that you and him were a package deal which warmed your heart."Keiji..I don't know how to thank you.."
He smiled. "Just meet deadlines for me and send me every drafts and just write what you want!"
"I'm so happy for the two of you! We should have a drink to celebrate!"
Your eyes darted to Bokuto. "That's not necessary.."
Bokuto waved his hand to you. "No way! This is big news! We have to celebrate!"
You shook your head. "You guys can drink..I'm just not in the mood for a drink.."
Akaashi eyed you while Bokuto continued to try and convince you to have at least one glass of wine.
"Kou, why don't you just get us a glass for now, she might get sick if she drinks..ya know cause of all the nerves and such." Akaashi spoke softly to his partner.
Bokuto pouted to you but did as Akaashi asked.
When he was gone out of the living room Akaashi leaned towards you with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you and Kuroo-san trying again?"You felt your cheeks flush. "Well..No not exactly..but I haven't gone back on my birth control.."
Akaashi smiled. "I see..have you taken a test yet?"
You looked down at your lap and started to pick the skin on your nail beds.
You shook your head."You're scared?"
"Yeah.." You mumbled, then took a deep breath. "What if I can't have kids Keiji?.."
"I don't think that's the case..You want me to bring you to the doctors?"
You shook your head. "I'm okay..but thank you.."
Akaashi settled in his seat. "Look I don't know much about this stuff and maybe Miku-san is better to talk about it with, but I'm here to help anyway I can."
You smiled. "Thank you, that actually means a lot to me..and thank you for working so hard to get you and I both a job..you really didn't have to do that for me.."
He shook his head and pushed up his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "You are an amazing writer Y/n, And I want to be your editor for all your works. I don't want anyone to take that from me."
You felt your cheeks burn again. "You're a good friend Keiji..I'm glad I met you."
He smiled. "Me too."
Your moment was broken when Bokuto came back into the living room with two glasses of wine and a box wrapped in your favorite colour.
"Can I give it to her now? Can I huh?" Bokuto gleamed with a slight jump in his steps.
Akaashi chuckled. "I guess so now, we were supposed to wait till tomorrow when she was officially hired."
You eyed the both of them.
"Here!" Bokuto smiled as he handed your the box, he stepped back and looked very excited.
You chuckled as you slowly opened the gift.
When it was unwrapped your mouth fell open and your eyes shimmered. It was a completed manga of the story you had been working on, each page illustrated and the cover in full colour and laminated. It looked amazing.
You looked up to Akaashi. "But I don't understand..It wasn't finished.."
He shook his head. "Y/n, those chapters you sent me..you're not writing one manga like before..you're writing a whole series."
Your eyes widened.
Akaashi spoke again before you could open your mouth. "I noticed when you sent me the final drafts, You had so many things you wanted to happen and from how your wrote it..It should be a series..I knew you would decline that so I decided to take it upon myself and get the first copy done for you.."
Your head raced with thought. You tried to collect words but nothing was coming out.
"Take a look closer at the cover." Bokuto smiled.
You did as he asked and saw your name at the bottom but as well as a name you never thought you'd see.
"L/n Kahori..." You felt tears swell in your eyes.
"So this is why she's always in her room keeping to herself...She was doing the illustration..""Kahori had come to me one day and asked if she could do it. I was hesitant at first but she showed me some art work and I couldn't refuse..also with people knowing that siblings worked on this together, sales will skyrocket."
You shook your head. "I didn't even know Kahori could draw..she never showed any type of interest in art before.."
"She kept it hidden? But she's so goooood!" Bokuto pouted.
You looked back down at the book and gripped it tight in your hands.
"Things are finally falling into place...." You mumbled.Akaashi and Bokuto smiled to you.
"So nine tomorrow, don't forget." Akaashi said as he stood up and pulled you into a tight hug.
"I know your life has been hard so far, from dealing with your parents, to going to America for your sister, to getting your own parents arrested, then to come home and lose a baby and then Kuroo's mother...You deserve this so much. I want to see you strive with your writing and I couldn't be more honoured then to make that happen for you."
Akaashi pulled away and smiled."Thank you Keiji.."
"Okay my turn!!" Bokuto exclaimed as he ran into the two of you and squished you into a tight hug.
When he finally pulled away, you looked back down at the fully finished volume one of your manga.
This right here was a sign that hard work pays off but also that you owe a lot to Keiji as he worked hard to make this happen.
