Seeing Richie Tozier stressed out is something I thought I'd never get to witness in my life. But, here we are. He's actually very bossy when he wants to be. It was Eddie's birthday last week and Richie explained that Eddie didn't have a very good day, so now we're throwing him a surprise party. We rented out one of the sorority houses. They let us use it as long as they could attend the party and Richie was pretty happy with that deal. Plus, a lot of them are over 21 and can get us all alcohol as Eddie is the only one in the group that is of legal age to get drinks. And he can't know about this.

"Stanley, quit standing there and help Patty with setting up the snack table!" Richie snaps at me and I'm a bit taken a back. I'm the sassy one in the group. Not him.

"Okay. Sure, your highness, would you like anything else?" I ask sarcastically and then I chuckle as he rolls his eyes before I walk over to Patty and help her out. She smiles at me and I smile back.

"I'm guessing he isn't usually like this." Patty says to me. She looks really beautiful today. She looks beautiful everyday but the dress she's wearing today makes her look particularly beautiful. It's blue and matches her eyes, really complimenting them.

"Nope." I reply with a grin. It's really amusing to see Richie stressed out. You all probably think I'm super mean, but Richie is my best friend. I adore that man but I love to tease him.

"Do you ever get tired of teasing him, Stanny?" Patty asks and I laugh slightly, shaking my head. She grins and we continue to put together the snacks for the snack table, separating them into bowls.

"It's my job to tease Richie, baby-love." I say and Patty blushes. She not quite used to my new nickname but I know she loves it." I wonder what Eddie is like drunk."

"I bet he's hilarious." Beverly says as she walks past. She's helping Audra and Kay with putting up fairy lights.

"I bet huh-he's even more huh-hot-headed." Bill chuckles. He's blowing up balloons with Ben.

"I don't think that's possible." Ben laughs, making us all laugh. But there's one laugh I can't hear. It's Richie's. I look around and notice he isn't in the room.

"I'm gonna go find Richie." I say to Patty. She nods and then smiles as I kiss her temple before I rush off to find Richie.

I search all over the house until I eventually find him in the front yard, smoking. He looks really tense. Here comes Stan-the-advice-man.

"Every okay?" I ask, walking over to him with my hands shoved in my pockets. He looks at me a nods before taking another drag of his cigarette." Come on, Trashmouth, talk to me."

"I'm just nervous. I want this to be perfect." He says and I nod. I'm the perfectionist in the group thanks to my OCD so I get how he feels." He had such a shit birthday, I just want to cheer him up."

"Yeah...he'll love it, Richie. I'm sure of that. Plus, I think he'll finally understand how much you love him." I say and Richie glances up at me, cigarette in hand." Come on...when are you going to ask him to be your boyfriend?"

"I asked him on a date. We go on Sunday with Rachel and May." Richie replies and I'm slightly shocked. He had the balls to do something!

"Oh. Cool. Awesome. Hey, if all goes well, you can go on a date with Patty and I?" I suggest. Richie grins and nods and then stomps out his cigarette, meaning it's time to go back inside.

"Why do I have to wear this?" Eddie asks as I hold onto his arm later that night, guiding him to the sorority house. He's wearing one of my bandanas over his eyes." It smells like fucking cigarette smoke!"
