R.T
Eddie officially split from Myra two months ago. He's been living with me ever since we left Derry and it's been a rollercoaster. We argue, like usual, but we love eachother. He thought my gaming was weird at first but now he joins in. He gets mad when I smoke but he knows it's something I can't really change about myself.
Christmas is tomorrow. Stan and Patty are Jewish but they join in on our Christmas Eve party. Also, Patty is pregnant and Eds and I are going to be godparents. Which I'm super hyped about.
Patty and I clicked back to the way we used to act in college almost instantly. The same with Eddie and Audra. It feels natural and familiar and even Mike is getting used to the new dynamic.
"Come on, it's easy!" I say as we play charades. We've been playing for two hours.
"You aren't supposed to talk!" Eddie states and I roll my eyes as I act it out again." I don't know, cars?"
"How the fuck is that Cars?" I ask and the others start to laugh. Eddie rolls his eyes and crosses his arms. God he's hot when moody. Which is basically all the time.
"I don't know. You're not acting it out very well!" He snaps at me and I smirk.
"CARRIE!" Beverly yells out as an answer. I cheer and applaud as I sit down beside Eddie. We've all had enough of this game." I win. I guessed the most correctly!"
"Queen Beverly Marsh everyone!" I say.
"Soon to be Hanscom!" She corrects and I chuckle. Her and Ben's wedding is in February. It's going to be a quick thing. If Eddie and I were to ever get married. I wouldn't want it to be a quick thing, I'd want to make a party out of it. This is the man I've been in love with for 27 years, I'm going all out.
"Can we party now?" Patty asks.
"Mrs Uris, I love you!" I say, standing up and turning on the radio, Christmas music beginning to play. We all get up and dance and I dance with Eddie gently, singing along.
He's smiling at me as we dance together. It's an upbeat song so we aren't close together like we would be if it were a slow song. I look at him and he is so perfect. The scar on his cheek is faint and he is really insecure about it, which he shouldn't be. 'It makes you look all sexy and dangerous. Like a pirate!' I had told him, to which he replied with, 'A fucking pirate? You're unbelievable' but he'd laughed when he'd said it.
Another thing I love is how well Eddie got on with my nephew when he met him. Brayden and Eddie clicked straight away. Rachel and I adored it. Lucas and Eddie didn't get on aswell as May and Eddie did. I sometimes miss May. I still talk to her, she's a singer now, so we often see one another. She was also friends with one of my ex girlfriends. One that I had as a beard.
Mom and dad were relieved to see Eddie again. They soon remembered everything and so did Rachel. Mom and dad were so welcoming to Eddie again and it really seemed to cheer him up.
Steve is a different story. Steve and I had a thing going on and when I came back from Derry, I put an end to it. Then I introduced him to Eddie and came out publicly, which was terrifying. But it had to be done. Steve is jealous of Eddie because he's with me. Eddie is jealous of Steve because he'd been with me. Eddie knows just how to wind Steve up. He always makes a point of being affectionate toward me infront of Steve and then he flips him the bird. To be honest, I just wish they'd get on. They'd probably be really good friends.
"What're you smiling about?" Eddie asks as the Power of Love begins to play. We dance together, slowly and softly.
"Nothing, I'm just...really happy." I reply and Eddie chuckles. Now, I'm nervous for what I have planned. The others know what I'm planning and they're all set up. Eddie is leaning his head against my chest and I glance at Stan, who nods reassuringly.
"What're you doing?" Eddie asks as I let go of him abruptly. I sigh and get down onto one knee, pulling out a ring box and opening it up with tears in my eyes. Eddie covers his mouth, tears also filling his eyes. Mike is recording with a grin and everyone is watching in anticipation.
"I have...loved you for as long as I have known you. I love everything about you. Your hair. Your freckles. Your jokes. Your anger. Your singing voice. Your goofiness. I don't ever want to lose you and I want to tell people that that small, angry man is my husband." I say with a chuckle and Eddie laughs, a tear escaping his eye. He wipes it away gently." I want us to be R and E forever. So, Edward James Kaspbrak, will you marry me?"
"Richard Wentworth Tozier...of course I will marry you!" Eddie breathes out and I gasp. Everyone cheers as I slip the ring onto his finger, standing up and wrapping him in a hug. He kisses me passionately and I chuckle.
"FUCKING FINALLY!" Stan cheers, setting off party poppers and confetti with the others. Eddie and I laugh as we pull away, wiping away eachothers tears. Patty laughs at Stan." Baby-love, you don't understand how frustrating it is to have witnessed these two idiots pine for one another for almost thirty years. I'm thrilled!"
"Thanks Stan-the-Man." I chuckle as Eddie leans his head against my chest, smiling. I wrap my arms around him and he laughs slightly.
"Who's surname would you take?" Audra asks Eddie as Bill wraps his arms around her waist.
"Well, as much as I like to honour my father, Kaspbrak reminds me of my mom and Myra way too much." Eddie replies and I get butterflies in my stomach at the thought of him wanting my surname." So, I want to be a Tozier."
"You do?" I ask and he looks up at me with a gentle smile on his face. He nods and I bury my head into his neck, crying. Everyone laughs, including Eddie, who rubs my back gently." I love you so much."
"I love you too, dingus!" Eddie laughs.
This has been the best Christmas of my life.
