The troops were gathered in a town not far from Omaha beach, where they were allowed to shower and have some good food in their system. Eileen, Judith, Joyce and Monique were led to a separate showering tent which was open for just them at that moment, when the hot water touched their skins they couldn't help but sigh in relief as they felt the grime wash out of their hair. Each of them scrubbed their body's clean of the mud, blood and sweat they had accumulated since their landing on D-Day. Judith scrubbed at her nails too in an attempt to relieve them of the blood that had been messed in them since she had landed and killed the German.

Her thoughts often led back to that day. That was the first time she took another mans life and she couldn't help but feel so selfish for doing so. But she knew it was a matter of his life or her life and she didn't want to stop fighting just yet.

Once they had redressed, the men and women of Easy Company stuck together as they got food. Each and every one of them found something to talk about during their meal together, attempting to keep a light spirit up. Judith and Joe sat side by side recalling a night in the foxhole where someone had let out gas but neither of them owned up to it, so they still tried to figure who it was. Both had giggled like children and still did when they retold it, as they liked to over exaggerate the story or tell it completely different as to how it was.

Eventually the men and women were ushered up to return to England, back to Aldbourne so they could rest for a while and enjoy being off of the front lines. After all, Easy Company had held the front line for so long and impressed the higher ups.

Once they had been returned to England, each and every soldier was please to be back.

"Judith, how about we go to the pub tonight ? Celebrate being home again." Joyce asked, a huge grin on her face.

"Sure Joy, are the fellas tagging along too ?" Judith asked.

"Sure as hell are." Eileen said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Psst, Belle !"

All four women turned to see Don peaking out from behind a wall, causing them to raise brows before the three older women pushed the youngest in his direction. Monique walked towards the ginger Irishman hesitantly before he dragged her behind the wall to reveal the motorcycle which they had driven around on the beaches back in Normandy. Monique recalled her and Don pleading Winters to allow them to drive it onto the ship and take it back to England with them, the man gave in and they bribed the Navy to turn the other way and pretend like they'd seen nothing.

A huge grin spread across her face as she hopped on behind Alton and Don got into the sidecar with a bottle of beer in hand. Alton revved the engine before they set off through the narrow roads of the small countryside. As they passed fellow soldiers, each turned their heads to watch the three with smiles as they drove through Aldbourne.
