Training was not easy on the girls, just like they had been warned time and time again. It was long hours in any temperature and any weather, they were preparing the girls for the weather they may face on the front lines. Judith was doing her best to push through all the training thrown her way and it was slowly paying off as her stamina was getting better and her strength was growing. Captain Dorn was pushing the girls to their extreme limits and he saw it was having affects on them. His work was paying off.
Each night the girls would march or jog through the forest surrounding them, sometimes they would wake for a morning run in the same path or throughout the day they would go. Some days they would be fully equipped with guns and all to prepare them for the long walks they would endure with all their equiptment attached to them.
Captain Dorn favoured small obstacle courses that he would put the girls through, no matter the weather he would have them doing things. More times than often they would be crawling through wet mud. A few times he had them crawling through snow to get them used to the cold miserable conditions they may have to sneak around in.
But damn that man was strict. He would have the women doing practice drills for incase a bombing happened, even at 0100. An alarm would blare causing the girls to stir from their sleep and crawl under their beds. However one thing they learnt about Judith was she can sleep through anything. The first time the alarms went off as the other girls jumped from their beds she laid in bed still asleep lightly snoring, until Joyce pushed her off her bed before crawling under her own.
It was undeniable that the four girls had become inseparable and did most things together. They would sit together for meals, when they had free time they would either sit on a bit of grass somewhere or do some extra exercising together. No matter what they did it was together. They found comfort in one another, classes each other as sisters.
So when they girls were allowed they would visit the local pub to celebrate together, though they were to wear civvies to stay under cover. They were given special civvies which were a beige with a dark green belt to match, the skirts reaching below their knees on the dresses. It wasn't often they were allowed offsite, perhaps once every few months. But it was truly nice to be allowed to enjoy a trip to the pub with some of the other women.
Judith sat at a table with Joyce and Monique as they waited on Eileen to enter the pub. It was rather busy with some of the women and the men from the other nearby camp. All soldiers knew of the women training as it was quick to spread through the army though all were warned that no word was to go home of these women. Plus the men would know when the women were assigned to their regiments and companies.
