Judith Moore was in her foxhole beside Joseph Liebgott, both their bodies shivering as they huddled together. So far they had been met with German artillery causing tree bursts and had already lost a few good men. Monique was with Don in their foxhole, she slept as they huddled underneath their blanket for warmth.
Joyce was waiting for Doc Roe to get back, he was venturing out to join up with another unit to see if their medics or surgeons had extra medical supplies as they were running low after their fair share of artillery fire and rogue gun shots. She began to get impatient so she walked up to the makeshift HQ where she found Eileen talking to Lewis.
"You guys seen Eugene ?" She asked the pair.
"No sorry." Eileen frowned.
"I thought for sure he might be here. If you see him, let him know I'm looking for him yeah ?" Joyce told them, with a stern voice.
"Sure thing doc." Lewis smiled at her.
With a nod she wandered back to walk the line, checking on all the men. Bill wantered up to her.
"Doc I'm pissing needles." He frowned.
"Bill I don't got anything for you. As soon as we get resupplied I will get you penecilling okay ?" She smiled at the man, who nodded.
"Thanks Joy."
Joyce headed over to Spina where she found him diggining his foxhole, so she began to help him.
"Spina, Joy."
"Doc" The two medics chorused.
"What's happening ?" Roe asked his two friends.
"Well we're digging in right along the line." Spina looked up at Roe and stopped digging for a second.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah this is it. So uh, what'd ya get ?" Spina responded, Joyce smiled up at Eugene.
"I got, er, I got this. And I got myself a kraut bandage." Eugene handed the bandage toward Joyce, who took it from his hands.
All three sat in the barely finished foxhole, putting their supplies away in their pouches.
"What, this is it?" Spina asked.
"Yeah. Thats it. Thats all you got." Eugene said, sounding disappointed.
Joyce used her knife to dig out dirt and blood from under her nails as she heard footsteps approaching, she looked up and swallowed. Dike was approaching them.
"First Sergeant Lipton?" He called.
"Yeah ?" Lip called back to the man.
"What's this ? Three medics in one hole ?" Dike questioned.
"Yes sir." Spina looked annoyed, hell he was annoyed, Joyce knew it.
"Well, what's going to happen to us if you take a hit, huh ?" Dike looked down, disapprovingly to the three medics.
Joyce looked down and rolled her eyes at the man so he couldn't see, continuing to clean her nails. Just then Lipton approached the four.
"Sir ?" Lipton looked to the man.
"First Sergeant where is my foxhole ?" Joyce had to hold in her laughter.
"It's back here sir. Maybe uh, maybe you missed it, huh?" Lipton pointed in the direction for the man.
As soon as the pair walked away Joyce let out a snort causing the two medics to look her way.
"He is lost. In general. He shouldn't be on the front line." She tutted.
