"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."

On April 11th the girls had entirely finished training, learning all that the men could provide for them here. So to celebrated they had headed to the local pub once again to have some drinks and celebrate the fact that they were headed to the front lines soon. It amazed them, each began having their doubts about it thinking they wouldn't make it so far but they were entirely wrong. It had passed a whole year of training and now they were headed their separate ways to different regiments. None of them knew where they were headed or who with. They had been kept in the dark but their superiors.
Out of the group Eileen was the only first class private as of the end of their training and the girls were so proud and happy for her. She had been the one to work the hardest so if anyone she had deserved that. Plus they believed it would go to more use with her as she was the smartest one of them all, knowing all about the different lands due to geography. She minored it in college whilst literature was her major. Therefore putting her at an advantage as wherever she landed she knew the different lands there and could use that knowledge to her advantage.
Whilst they were celebrating at the pub both Lucy and Amelia congratulated them all as they also didn't think some of the girls would've made it as far as they did. Lucy and Monique had a drinking match, the younger girl beating Lucy and causing the table to erupt in cheers and laughter. Then Joyce got sentimental reminiscing the fun times they had here or on base, saying how she would miss each of the girls dearly. Eileen pricked a few tears at this, whilst she had told herself she wouldn't get attached to any of the girls it had happened anyway and these three girls were like her sisters. The closest thing she had ever had to sisters anyway.
Then the day came. All the girls were told where they would be headed, joy overfilled the four girls to be learning they'd be headed off to Aldbourne in England to join the same company together. Aaron smiled at the girls who hugged each other in their barracks after the news had been broken to them, admiring their bonds before he left them to celebrate for a few minutes. He didn't want to break the moment that they were having to tell them they had to pack ASAP and head out.
But once he told them the girls quickly complied and began to pack as quick as they could as they were still dancing around with each other and being excited. He shook his head whilst watching with a small chuckle, they were so young and pure. It made him think of when he was just a private, he missed those bonds he built with the other men.
Once they were on the boat headed toward England the girls waved off Liberty before headed down to where their cots were situated, making themselves comfortable on two bottom cots talking to one another.
"Can you guys believe it ?" Joyce squealed, earning Monique to hush her.
"We are all headed out to war together. I didn't think we would." Judith admitted sheepishly.
"Well no matter what, we have each other. We will save each other." Eileen stated causing the other girls to agree.
Even if they would be with other men who had trained just as hard and just as long Eileen was scared that one of the girls would end up dead due to one of the men's mistakes. It haunted her dreams. She didn't want to think it was a possibility but she was preparing herself for the realism of war and what was to come, war wasn't going to be pretty and she had to get adjusted to that.

It took a few days to arrive in England, roughly eight if Judith had counted properly but once they walked off that ship with luggage in hand and smelling the British air the girls couldn't help but get overjoyed again. It was so surreal to them. Joyce was so happy to be in Britain, it was somewhere she had planned on travelling to for so long and finally she had made it. Once they had gotten off the ship with their luggage they were directed to a car which would take them to Aldbourne. The residents there were made aware of the secret operation and were told it was a private matter.
So once the girls had arrived in the small village they had been situated with different houses to stay in during their time there. Judith had been situated with an old couple by the names of David and June Smith. The first time she walked into the small house she remembered how welcoming they were to her offering her tea and a place to sit. One of the walls was covered by a bookshelf with tons of books and it made her think of how much Eileen would love this house. Pictures painted their walls of a girl, and what seemed to be them when they were younger.
When Judith asked they explained they had one child, a girl by the name of Hope which seemed like a lovely name to her. Apparently she was in London, living there for nursing with her boyfriend too. They revived often letters from her updating them on all the things happening down in London as well as how her nursing was going. Her latest letter explained how they were already getting some soldiers back from the war with bad wounds.
A knock sounded at the door causing Judith to startle from her thoughts as June opened the door.
"Oh dear come in !" June hugged the person before standing back and letting them in.
Eileen walked in and began admiring the place instantly as she noticed the many books the couple kept. June offered her a cup of tea as she sat on the couch next to Judith.
"We are to continue training whilst we are here. Aaron is landing in the UK soon and will come to Aldbourne to assist us in the training. Tomorrow we will go for a jog." Eileen spoke to Judith with a small smile.
"Just when I thought we get a nice relaxing holiday." Judith slightly laughed as she sat back.
"Also I know who we are getting assigned to. Easy Company in the 101st Airborne Division." Eileen softly told the woman.
"Sounds great. Let's surprise them men and show them what us women are capable of." Judith grinned.
The next few days they trained lightly between the four of them as they awaited Aaron to arrive to lead them in their training. Currently they were there without their commanding officers under the command of Captain Sinks who was still in America, Georgia running Camp Toccoa with the 101st Airborne Division.
Once Aaron had arrived the women were put to working hard, pushing themselves through the heat of the England sun which was much cooler than the summer in America. There was always a soft breeze and blooming flowers, many animals decorated the fields around them. Every time they had been gone out with Aaron for hours upon hours Judith always returned to the little home to be welcomed by June who gave her a cup of tea for her to relax on the couch or at the dining table. David always made her the loveliest vegetable soups as he had heard her say it was her favourite type of soup.
The elderly couple took care for the girl as if she was their own daughter because quite frankly, her brunette hair resembled their daughters as did her eyes. June had even dug through her old clothes and some of her daughters old clothes to provide Judith with some choice of other clothes when she didn't need to wear her own. Judith appreciated them and all they were doing for her.
