If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
- Mother Theresa
♣♣♣
Judith had returned to June's house after their mission was cancelled therefore meaning they could stay some longer in Aldbourne. June could only smile and express how she was thankful to have her staying for some extra time with them, David was more than pleased to be hosting her again in their small home in the village. In fact, they'd missed having an extra person or two, maybe three around to provide food for. Some nights the woman had brought around friends for dinner, one night it had been George Luz, who found their cooking excellent and bragged. The next Joe Liebgott came over, then Tab, then Monique and Joy, then Eileen and even Shifty had came one night. Each night it was a new meal and it was popular news that June and David Smith were the best cooks in all of Aldbourne.
But overall, their apple pie was to die for. Once they had baked so many apple pies for all the men in Easy Company to have in the barn. Winters had thanked them time and time again when he seen them. Judith and Liebgott helped to bake though it got rather messy when he had blew some flour her way so in turn she did it back causing a war. However their apple pie that they baked together stood out from the rest as it tasted as good as June's but they designed it their own way, with Judith adding a small heart on top.
Amongst the men and women, they all adored the elderly couple. Some nights they even hosted some of the three other women to stay over as they loved them all just as much as they did Judith. At one point their daughter had returned and Judith got on with her, discussing how things were in London.
They let her settle back into the small room at her own pace. The men settled back into their respected housings as did the other women.
Joyce returned to the village house she had been in to find that the dog that had been there had finally given birth to a small litter of tiny puppies. When the couple told her she couldn't help but squeal in joy causing them to shush her with smiles. The fact she had been to war and came back, yet was still cheerful with that same innocent smile on her face.
All of Easy were joyed to be in England again, staying for longer and getting more of a rest from the war they had fought on the front line for.
♣♣♣"Say, Bill, you never got me that coffee." Judith smiled over at the man.
"So it seems. Would you like to go get coffee with me, Judith ?" Bill asked holding out his arm.
"Why, are you asking me out on a date William Guarnere ?" Judith asked with raised brows and her mouth agape.
"Don't make me take it back." Bill gave her a glare.
