"Oh Don, you did it !" Monique took his face between her hands and planted a kiss upon his forehead.
Donald Malarkey had just won three thousand, six hundred dollars from a game of craps. Monique watched idly from the side as to not interrupt him. Both grabbed hands and ran to the cinema where easy company were watching Seven Sinners starring all the men's favourite actress, Marlene Dietrich.
They squeezed through to where they sat with Frank Perconte and Warren Muck. They had been searching for Skip for quite a bit, before learning he was in the cinema with some of the other men. They squeezed through.
"Skip!" They both yelled.
"Shhh, come on!" George turned to them.
"Where've you been? We've been looking all over for you." Don asked.
"Well, Don, I was at home in Tannawanda, but then Hitler started this whole thing, so, now I'm here." Skip told the pair as his eyes continued to watch the movie.
"How'd you make out in Craps?" He asked the ginger man.
Don sifted through the money quickly, gathering sixty bucks for his friend that he owed him.
"Not so bad. Here's the sixty bucks I borrowed." Don smiled.
"You're paying me back ?" Skip asked, brows furrowed.
Perconte looked at the money.
"And, to say thank you. A tip." Don grinned wider, Monique smiling beside him.
"Jesus!" Perconte yelled.
"Shut up!" Both Joe Toye and Carwood Lipton turned to the four, with angry faces.
"I was up six grand. But now I have only thirty six hundred left." Don told his friend.
"What are you gonna do with all that dough ?" Perconte held out a hand.
"I'm going to blow most of it in Paris as soon as possible." Don said as he stole the cigarette from behind Skips ear.
"Give me a tip ?" Perconte asked, making Monique laugh.
Judith sat beside Joe Liebgott, leaning on him as they watched the movie, her eyes tired from not sleeping so well the night beforehand. A small smile was on Eileen's face as she watched the pair from where she stood at the back with Bill Guarnere.
"I'm winning that bet Bill." She told him.
Suddenly two soldiers marched into the room, to be met with protests from Easy Company when they yelled for the lights to be turned on.
"I said quiet! Elements of the 1st and the 6th SS Panzer Division, have broken through in the Ardennes Forest. Now they've overrun the 28th infantry and elements of the 4th. All Officers report to respective HQs. All passes are cancelled."
All the men of Easy began to yell in protest and disappointment. Judith lifted her head off of Joes shoulder with a small frown on her face as she looked down.
"Enlisted men and women report to barracks and your platoon leaders."
