Whoever the man was, he was sweet and wanting to help the pair as best as he could. So Joyce gave him the things he would need to help Randleman. As the man poured liquid, most likely either water or alcohol, into his wound the soldier hissed at the pain before the man offered him a drink. Randleman declined.

The blonde woman felt bad that she was rendered useless in that very moment and couldn't help her friend out the way she was meant to. But to satisfy herself she gave the man directions when he needed them. After a while of him trying to pull the shrapnel out with his fingers, Bull offered him a knife.

With a scrunched face, she watched as he dug it into the wound and struggled to pull out the piece of shrapnel. It pained her to watch both men struggle.

"Try place it under the metal and push it out." Joyce told him, to which he nodded.

Then, with ease, he did as she said and pulled out the piece of tank which had embedded in her friends shoulder. He let out a sigh as the farmer pushed some white cloth into the wound. Joyce smiled over at the mans daughter and dug into her pocket, she was sure she had some other chocolate in there somewhere. And sure she did.

As she held out the chocolate, the sound of vehicles approaching made Bull run to a window to check it out. The medic pushed her finger to her lips to tell the two civilians to remain quiet. They simply nodded in reply as the man held his daughter close.

Bull rushed back, looking at Joyce with a small smile before whispering a sorry. Then he proceeded to cover her with hay and the other man joined in to help, once she was covered Bull took the man and his daughter to the back door and pushed them toward it.

It was suffocating under the hay and growing increasingly warmer by the minute as Joyce slowly grew restless and her breathing increased. Suddenly the front barn doors opened as German soldiers entered to check the barn, their laughs filling the quiet as well as their talking. The sound of one of them pissing filled the blondes ears and she took a deep breathe and held it.

After what seemed like hours, a clattering noise sounded making the German call out into the darkness of the barn. He seemed paranoid, scared even. With each call his voice seemed more panicked. Then in her ears came the sounds of the German screaming along with the sound of guns hitting each other. Finally came his screams as she heard stabbing, then silence.

Yet even after the silence, she didn't dare to move from under the hay which hid her. But she did let out the deep breath she had been holding in the whole time. Finally the hay was being removed off of her so she finally moved. She was met with Bulls small smile before she looked over to the dead German.

Bile rose in her throat as she noticed the stab wounds on him before she took another deep breath to soothe her stomach. With the help of the other man, the soldier moved the medic toward the back of the barn before moving the dead German under the hay she was just under.

Now they just had to stay hidden until dawn.

Judith had been nudged awake by Hoobler, who was looking down at her with a soft look.

"A few of the replacements and I are gonna look for Joy and Bull. We will bring them back, I swear."

With those words he left her sat in her foxhole staring up still, into the night sky which for once, was starless. Just a dark empty void. Inside she somehow felt that the sky felt her pain and decided to represent it in the lack of light. In the time she had spent looking up, she hadn't realised that Joe was also awake and had heard Hoobler.

Judith was still extremely worn out from the fight and from the crying she had done and still wanted to sleep. So she rested back again with her back on the dirt wall as she breathed slowly. But no matter how much she tried to sleep, she couldn't.
