Tsukishima's POV
What the fuck was I holding? I looked down, seeing Yamaguchi snuggled up to me fast asleep. I pulled my arm away, the movement waking him up.

"Huh..? G'morning Tsukki." He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. Tsukki?

"...Morning. Wake up, we should keep going." I said, sitting up and getting out of the bed. Yamaguchi nodded, snuggling more into the covers half asleep. I clicked my tongue, walking over to Kuroo and Kenma's room to get them up. When I opened their door, I found the two cuddled together. And. Shirtless.

Gross.

"Hey bedhead, get the fuck up." I said, tossing a shirt at Kuroo's head with enough force to wake him. He jolted awake, Kenma waking up in the process.

"What the heck...!"

"We need to get going. Wake up." I said, leaving the two to get ready in private. I checked all of our supplies, making sure it was all there before checking up on Yamaguchi. He woke up and was stumbling his way over. His freckles looked more prominent for some reason.

"Finally awake?"

"Mhm..." He mumbled, sticking with me until Kuroo and Kenma were up. We all headed back out, Kuroo being his usual relatively annoying self along the way. I pulled the map from my bag, looking at it when Yamaguchi scooted closer to me and looked at it as well.

"That's where we're going??" He asked hopefully. I nodded when he pointed to the red marking.

"Yeah. You been there before?"

"I did, before everything happened. I used to live there and I got stuck down here when I came to visit my family. I hope that my friends are okay..." He mumbled quietly. I just nodded, rolling and tucking the map away before continuing.

"Who knows." I said, Yamaguchi nodding slightly. All of us looked up when it began raining.

"Good, could give us some cover." Kuroo said as Kenma shook his head. I rolled my eyes as Yamaguchi looked a bit started and walked closer to me. I ignored him and kept walking. He was pretty easy to ignore until he poked my arm.

"What." I said, Yamaguchi mumbling.

"..Sorry." He mumbled and looked away, his grown out hair falling into his face from being soaked. I handed him a hair tie I kept around my wrist. My hair wasn't long enough for it, but in the apocalypse, you take what you can.

"Get your hair out of your face." I mumbled, Yamaguchi messily getting his hair out of his face. The rain just got worse, Yamaguchi say semi-loudly.

"S-should we find a place to wait until this storm blows over?"

"No, keep moving. The noise and the rain is giving us cover. It makes it hard for anything to see us." I said, Yamaguchi letting out a tiny whimper. I glanced at him before sighing, grabbing his hand to hurry him along. He held onto me tightly and followed.

The roads were getting muddy and hard to walk in, Yamaguchi ended up slipping. Well, he would've fell if I wasn't holding onto him.

"You alright back there?" Kuroo said, Yamaguchi nodding his head.

"I-I'm okay..!" He said, getting onto his feet.

"We really must find you better shoes and clothes for this." I said, Yamaguchi smiling slightly and nodding. He held on tight as we got past the muddy road and got to a stone one. It took ages for the storm to clear, but finally it was just a light rain.

"I'm soaked." Kenma mumbled, shaking his head, getting water onto Kuroo.

"We're all soaked." I said, Kenma shaking his arm of some mud. Yamaguchi giggled, causing me to look at him.

"What."

"Huh? Oh, nothing." He said with a smile. I slowly nodded as he let go of me. Now that the rain was thinned out, I grabbed the map to check that we were still heading in the right direction.

"Tsukki?"

"What."

"How long until we get there, you think?"

"We made it a good way by car before we ran into you. So hopefully it shouldn't be much longer."

"Do you think they'll let us in?"

"They better." I said, tucking the map away. Kuroo laughed, placing his hands behind his head.

"Gee, I hope that this settlement is still standing by the time we get there. You think they're running it like they did the sectors, Tsukishima?"

"I don't know. I hope not." I said, Yamaguchi tilting his head.

"What were the sectors?"

"They were places that thought they could keep safe. But almost all of them got over run. But even before they were destroyed, they weren't anywhere nice to live. There were people who considered themselves soldiers roaming everywhere. And if you didn't listen, you'd get a good hit from the end of their gun."

"Ow..."

"Yeah. I found out the hard way. That's how I got this." I said, reaching back and pointing to a spot on the back of my head. Yamaguchi tilted his head, reaching up and gently feeling the spot where a scar could still be felt. My hair covered the ugly wound, but it was still there.

"Ouch. Are you okay?"

"It happened nearly 5 years ago. It's long since healed."

"Oh. What were the living conditions like?"

"People had to share rooms. Not enough space, too many people. Only the soldiers got their own rooms." I said with a sigh. Kuroo had talked about joining those soldiers to get a private room for us. But he never did. I didn't blame him about it though. All those assholes marched around and did nothing but die idiotically. They threw themselves into battle, thinking they could take on a horde of infected and be crowned as heroes.

Personally, I just thought they were idiots. And I hope that this new place wasn't like that. But maybe being forced to live all together would be safer. In fact ultimately it likely would be safer, just, less desirable to me. My thoughts were disturbed when Yamaguchi began humming to himself. His humming was nothing like Kuroo's. I rather enjoyed listening to it.
