Yamaguchi's POV
"Alright, this is where Kageyama should have spotted this guy." Ennoshita said, looking at a drawn map in one of his notebooks. I looked around anxiously. I wanted nothing more than to find Tsukki, but I don't want the others finding him.. Hm... This group was small. Maybe I could slip away when they're distracted? But what could even be a good distract-

"Hey guys, careful. There's a mutated." Someone said quietly. I looked over. That thing was horrifying...

"Yamaguchi, hide. We'll take care of it. Come out when we say." Ennoshita said since he knew I was no good at fighting. Perfect..! I nodded and rushed off and hid behind a large boulder, or piece of a building. I'm not too sure which one it is now. Either way, I watched to make sure the others would be okay before rushing off to continue further south. I could be running straight into a death sentence. It was dangerous to go alone, but I didn't care. I just want to find Tsu-

"Yamaguchi!" I turned my head, my eyes widened when I saw Tsukki. He, he was alive! And he wasn't like, undead, or whatever..! I ran over and crashed into him, wrapping my arms around him tightly.

"Tsukki, you're alive...!"

"What are you doing out here, and alone..? It's dangerous."

"I had come with a group to come look for you, but, we can't let the others find you..!"

"Yama, what's going on?" He asked, looking down at me. I dared not let go of him before blurting out what Ennoshita had explained to me not too long ago. Tsukki nodded quietly, gently pulling me closer to him. I peaked at his arm. The bite looked exactly the same as it did so long ago.

"Tsukki?"

"Hm?"

"Why didn't you come back when you didn't turn..? When you left, no one knew you were bitten."

"They would have found out soon enough. And I didn't know what was happening. Even though I didn't turn within 24 hours, I didn't want to return in case it was just, delayed or something."

"But what now.. you can't come back. They'll kill you for that vaccine..!"

"I stay out here, and you go home where it's safe."

"But... I don't wanna leave you..!"

"Yama, you can't stay out here. It's too dangerous and you've been kept safe in that settlement."

"I'm not leaving you this time.." I said, burying my face into Tsukki's chest. He held me tightly before pulling me away.

"Yama... I don't want you getting killed out here. Even if it isn't from infection, how long until we would run into a group of killers or a horde where I can't protect you. Go back home. Do your work, find someone to raise a family with or whatever you'd like." Tsukki said with a small smile.

"No..! I said I'm no leaving you this time, and I mean it." I said, Tsukki sighing. I didn't care what he said, I didn't want to leave him again. He was the only person I've met since this outbreak started that I've liked. Well, some people at the settlement were okay, but I liked Tsukki in a different way than them. I rested my head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

I couldn't believe that he was okay. I mean, I'm glad he was okay. But at the same time, I don't know what to do. Maybe he and I could go try to find another settlement? Surely there is more than just one. My thoughts broke when I heard the voices from the group I was with call my name. Tsukki looked over as I huffed.

"Yama, you really should go with them."

"No.."

"...Yama."

"I don't want you to go again.."

"But it isn't safe. What if I can't protect you..?"

"I don't care. We can figure it out. Maybe, maybe there are other settlements we can go to. We can hide your bite and they would never know."

"It doesn't seem like I'm going to be changing your mind." Tsukki said with a tiny smile. I giggled and nodded before he sighed.

"Okay. At least let the others know you're okay.. You can tell them you want to leave, they can't stop you. But Yama, really think this over.. I'll wait here." Tsukki said as he pulled himself away from me. I nodded, heading over to where the other's voices were.

Tsukishima's POV
I watched Yama run off to go talk to the others. I never thought I'd see him again. I could have returned to the settlement weeks ago, but I was afraid something bad would happen if I did. And now I know that I can't go there, or I'll die either way. But maybe, maybe it'd be worth it. Yes I would die, but it would keep Yama inside of that settlement and then a vaccination could be created.

Honestly I almost don't care about anyone else, but it'd be worth it if Yama could take the vaccine and not have to worry about that at least. Part of me hoped that Yama wouldn't return to me, and that he would use his sense and go home. Part of me hoped he'd come running back so we could stay together. And part of me hopes he tells the others where I am so that a cure can be made.

Pft, all these years I believed that a cure was bullshit. And here I am, the only known person so far to be immune. How ironic. Just as I thought, Yama came running back over. I asked him what happened, and he explained that he told the others he wants to stay out here. That he 'needed to be out here'. I couldn't help but laugh slightly. The others must think he's crazy.

"So.. are you just planning on staying out here, Tsukki?" Yama asked, quietly grabbing my hand.

"No, actually."

"No??"

"It's not nearly as big and not nearly as many people are there. But there is another small settlement I spotted. It's East. I'm unsure how well it is run, hopefully just as well as the other."

"Then what're we waiting for? Let's go."
