Tsukishima's POV

"I'm sorry, Tsukishima. But, we promise it won't hurt." Daichi said to me as we walked through the gates of his settlement. I kept quiet as he took me to the medic building. Suga was there, as was Hinata. I didn't know either of them very well, but I knew they were friends with Yama.

Both stayed quiet and gave small bows of their heads while Daichi led me to a room far from where everyone else was. He had me sit on a table and waited with me until Suga walked into the room. Suga looked ready to cry.

"...Hi, Tsukishima."

"Hello Suga." I said politely. Daichi gently patted Suga's shoulder before leaving us. Suga walked over and glanced at me as he slowly took the bandages off from around my arm. He examined the old bite in silence before slowly nodding.

"...I can't believe you're alive."

"Just my luck."

"..I'm... I'm so sorry. I don't want to do this. I really don't, I want you to go back to Yamaguchi. He was so devastated without you. He missed you so much..."

"...I see."

"I'm sorry."

"I want you to swear to me, one thing." I said seriously, turning to look at Suga.

"Of course.. What is it?"

"This vaccine better fucking work. And you better make sure that Yamaguchi receives it. That he'll be safe." I said, Suga nodding.

"I promise.." He said, mumbling he would be ready in a bit. I watched him walk to the other side of the room and laying out a bunch of equipment and other supplies he had out on a small metal table.

I looked away before looking down at my hands. I wish I could have said goodbye. But I knew that if Yama had found out, he never would have let me go. Or maybe he would. But then I know for sure he'd... he'd do something to himself. And I want him to be safe, and Oikawa said he'd keep him safe for me.

I don't care if I die. The only reason I had for living was for Yama. And now if my dying meant he'd live happily, then that's all I cared about. I doubt I'm making it out of this alive. I don't even fully understand all this.

"Hey Suga?"

"Mhm?"

"So... What's going to happen. I don't understand. Why am I immune?"

"Well. Something in your body, something is creating antibodies to the virus. And it makes you immune... We need to extract whatever it is that is causing the immunization."

"And, what is causing the immunization?"

"I don't know. We need to do tests. We only have ideas and theories."

"And what do you believe..?"

"I believe that something in the brain is what's doing it. Like a growth."

"A growth?"

"Yes. And.. depending on the growth, if that's correct, it could change the difference if you survive or not."

"What would end up killing me?"

"If the growth is thinly spread over the brain. If it's a glad.. the only way you'd live is if the growth is more, I guess, tumor like or is isolated in a single part of the brain."

"...I see."

"I'm sorry Tsukishima. I wish I had more answers for you. But without the use of high medical equipment, we won't know for sure until we see inside."

"No. I understand." I said quietly. Part of me hopes I die in case it leaves me in a worse state than now. But a bigger part of me hopes I live just so I can get to go back to Yama.

There was some knocks at the door, Suga saying to come in. I looked up to see a few more medics. They looked more professional than the simple medics who knew basic knowledge like Hinata or Yamaguchi. They were likely some of the last surgeons left in this hellhole.

They walked over and looked at my arm before putting what few masks, gloves, and all the other proper medical equipment  they needed on. Suga did so as well, quietly drawing something from a bottle and into a needle syringe.

He walked over to me and showed me the needle. Right. Like I need to see that.

"Okay.. This will let you sleep... I.. only pray that you'll wake up." Suga mumbled quietly, the others glancing around. I looked at all of them before sighing and holding my arm out so he'd have access to where he needed to inject me.

"Yeah. Whatever.. But please, make sure Yama gets it. No matter what."

"I promise." Suga said, wiping a spot on my arm before injecting the last of the medicine into my arm. The others had me lay down so I wouldn't fall when it kicked in. My glasses were removed as my eyelids started to feel heavy. Everything suddenly started to crash down on me.

I felt scared for the first time in a long time. It felt harder to breathe, but I tried to stay as calm as I could. I had to stay calm. This would be for Yama, so that he could live out a full life to do whatever he'd like. To have a family.

"Okay Tsukishima.. It'll, be okay." One of the surgeons said to me. I looked up at him quietly before giving a tired nod. As the medicine started getting stronger, I thought of Yama. A tear slipped from my eye as I looked at the ceiling.

"I'm.. so sorry... Yama." I mumbled, probably incoherent to the others in the room. Finally, I gave in and let my eyes close.
