Chapter 8: Salute

I knew he was there, watching me. But he couldn't find me. Not where I was going.

Dad had made sure of that.

"Hey sweetie how was the party?"

"Ended early, no thanks to you I'll bet."

"What can I say? I have a flair for the dramatics."

"Whatever dad. I'm heading to bed. Goodnight."

I headed to my room not knowing or caring what my dad was scheming. All I knew was that I wanted no part of it and he would not force me into it.

Monday:

"Hey guys."

It had been a long weekend and with the events of the party and my dad hounding me about all the details Sunday, I didn't get much rest.

"Hey Y/N. How was the rest of the weekend."

"Oh, ya know, solved world hunger, found the cure for cancer, had brunch with the president. The usual."

"Very funny."

She may pretend she hates me but I know she thinks I'm funny.

"You look tired, are you ok?"

"Yeah MJ, I'm good. Just didn't get much sleep."

She eyed me suspiciously but didn't ask me anything more about it. I was glad about that.

Peter's POV:

"Not still mad at me are you Y/N?"

"Me? Mad? No no of course not. My boyfriend just disappeared into a crowd and I couldn't find him all while Spiderman was swinging me around and bombs were going off."

Did she just say what I think she said?

Y/N's POV:

Oh my god did I just say what I thought I said?

Shit

Peter's POV:

Should I just pretend I didn't hear it?

Y/N's POV:

Oh please tell me he didn't hear it.

Peter's POV;

I"m just going to pretend I didn't hear it.

"Spiderman swung you around huh? How was that?

She looked relieved.

"Haha yeah. I actually went out looking for you and he found me outside-"

"Hold on... Y/N, you went OUTSIDE?"

"Well, yeah but I was looking for you and-"

"Look I'm sure you already heard it from Spiderman but that was extremely dangerous. With all the bombs going off too. I'm just glad you were safe and Spiderman was there."

I pulled her into a tight hug.... mainly so she couldn't see me smiling.

"Well, I'll see you in chemistry ok? And no more swinging around young lady." I scolded.

She laughed.

God, I loved her laugh.

"Aye aye captain." she saluted.

I couldn't help but laugh when she saluted.

Y/N POV:

Seriously what is up with me and saluting people?
