"What's that on your cheek?" Seraphina's quill dropped on the table with Nott's sudden question, she was so scared that she forgot his presence.
They were currently in the Defence Against the Dark Arts class and somehow Seraphina decided to sit next to Theodore Nott this time.
"I have nothing on my cheek," she said with a frown, touching her cheek to see if there was something in there.
"You have a bite mark on your cheek," he smirked and Seraphina widened her eyes, immediately remembering why she had a bruise on her cheek.
"It was one of the twins' cat, you know those who share the dorm with me," she tried to find a good excuse, but he didn't look convinced, "Those bitches hate me, I bet they made their cat attack me."
"Or Riddle is just being too rough on you," he chuckled, eyeing the girl with mischief, "Don't worry, sweetheart. It's not a secret to anyone anymore."
"What?" She asked confused, wondering about what he knew.
"I think that everyone with eyes can see you two are fucking. You two make sure of that, after all," he shrugged.
"No, we don't."
"Seraphina, my dear. You have a bite mark on your cheek and your neck is covered with hickeys," he stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
She tilted her head to the side with raised eyebrows, "Alright, but why do you suppose Tom was the one doing it to me?"
"Because he doesn't allow anyone else to approach you," he pointed out, making Seraphina huff, "What? It's true and you know it. If it makes you feel any better, we all predicted you two would end up together."
"We might not end up together. We're just living in the moment," she lied, wishing things would be that simple between them. But Tom already wanted to be her Horcrux so they both could live forever and be by each other's side.
"Riddle never lives in the moment. Besides, it's not like he will ever let you go," he closed his book as if the professor wasn't still talking, "He has you now and there's no way he's going to give you up."
Seraphina couldn't imagine herself parting ways with Tom, but they were just teenagers. Her mind could change at any moment. It's very unlikely, but what if she falls in love with someone in the future? Won't he accept that?
"We don't know that, Theo," she tried to convince herself and Nott, but it didn't seem to work.
"Anyway, you should try to cover that on your cheek. It looks like you were attacked by a crazy dog," he shrugged, "And you don't want people to ask you the wrong questions."
"I'll do it after class," Seraphina turned to her book again and tried to focus on what the professor was saying, but all she could think about was Tom Riddle.
Honestly, Seraphina truly loved Tom. He was the closest person to her in her life and she would be truly lost if it wasn't for him. As foolish as it sounded, Seraphina wanted nothing but to spend the rest of her life with him. And not just because she was curious to see how he would turn out in the future, but also because she couldn't picture herself with anyone else. Tom was her soulmate and nobody could ever question that, it was pretty obvious.
