59| Albania Part II

Seraphina looked at Tom with a confused face as he examined a very old and strange map on his hands. Tilting her head to the side, she really wondered if he could know where they were just by looking at a map when they were in the middle of a forest and every single corner seemed to be the exact same.

She walked closer to him, carefully looking at the muddy ground. Placing her small hand on his elbow, she tried to understand the map on his hands, but it seemed useless. They could never know where they were.

Tom shook his head, throwing the map on the ground and pinching the skin between his eyebrows, "We're lost," he groaned, not daring to look in her eyes, "We have to find our way around here."

Seraphina frowned, not knowing what to say. One thing she knew, she was right when she asked Tom to bring Miguel with them, for he would help them by flying above the forest and he could even send a message in desperate times. But Tom insisted they wouldn't need an owl, therefore Avery had to take him to his house.

"We should just keep walking," she started, "This forest is huge, but we surely won't be here forever. Let's just go north or something."

He finally looked at her and she was surprised at how disappointed he seemed, disappointed at himself, which was extremely rare, "What if the diadem is south?"

"We don't know that, but if that's the case we'll just return to the forest when we have a more promising plan. When we find a village it will be easier to contact our friends and they will certainly help us or simply give us information," she tried to calm him down, placing her hands on his shoulders, "You'll find the bloody diadem, Tom. We just have to be patient and plan this whole thing better."

He narrowed his eyes, "I had everything planned out! I don't understand how did we get lost! It's impossible!" At that point, Seraphina was so used to his childish outbursts that she didn't even flinch.

"Honey," she said calmly, almost sarcastically, "Let's not lose our minds over something this meaningless, right? We have the whole summer to find it, not just today."

She didn't quite understand how he was so impatient sometimes. It was a little ridiculous that he would start yelling whenever he didn't have something he wanted. He had always been like that, demanding to have everything he wished and when it didn't work out as he planned, it would be difficult to convince him to calm down. With her, he was free to express his fury, for he was so used to her presence that there could no longer be any surprises to her. However, when it came to other people, he would always conceal his anger issues, since he wanted to appear calm and collected, superior even. Even then, she knew him far too well to understand when he was upset.

Tom didn't fail. That was his only thought at the moment, not even caring if she was right there trying to make him loosen up a little bit. She didn't understand, how could she? If she wanted a crown, she would have a crown. If she wanted a golden wand, she would get a golden wand. If she wanted a palace, she would get a palace. Seraphina Vevrain was simply too privileged to understand the frustration of working exceptionally hard and not succeed.

The diadem meant more to Tom than anyone could ever imagine. It was the promise of a great future, the beginning of his run for power. And if he didn't find it, then he was just losing his time and there was nothing worse than that. No, he would find the diadem and he would make it a Horcrux, even if the price to pay was losing his last school year at Hogwarts.
