𝟑| 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲Tom Marvolo Riddle never knew such a thing as love. Growing up as an orphan and abandoned, he never cared about those deep feelings. He would rather have a different type of attention.
Perfection was his goal since day one, he wanted to be admired. He wanted to be feared.
While growing in that muggle orphanage, he knew he was different. The muggles found him weird and sometimes even bullied him. However, they failed to make him feel sad or miserable, for those emotions were unknown to the young Tom. Instead, they made him angry and left him planning his revenge.
Eventually, he made them pay. Without ever regretting it, he traumatized the muggles who bullied him, one by one.
It was only when Albus Dumbledore visited him that everything changed. Of course, the boy knew he was special and unique, for he could move things without touching them and hurt those who treated him badly. He could already feel the power in his veins from a young age and it wasn't a surprise for him when Dumbledore told him he was a wizard and there was a school of magic waiting for him. Hogwarts.
It would be reasonable to feel thankful towards Albus Dumbledore, for he introduced him to a new home, where he could feel welcome. Despite that, Tom never found it in him to even tolerate the old wizard. After all, he abandoned him in that horrific place, just like his parents.
Besides, he didn't enjoy the fact that Dumbledore could sense something was wrong with him. Since the first day he saw him, he noticed that the young wizard had some issues and until his sixth year nothing changed. Tom still shows a different version of him to everyone, trying to prove he's charming and genuine, and Dumbledore still sees right through his facade.
So that explains why currently Tom Riddle found himself glaring at the professor during his Transfiguration class. However, whenever the professor managed to look at Tom, his face instantly changes to one of interest.
Not even the tan-skinned girl next to him could distract him. Tom knew she was aware of his distaste for the old man, all his followers did, because the ambitious wizard kept telling them how much of a fool Dumbledore actually is.
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the movement of a Gryffindor mudblood in the desk in front of his turning around to look at Seraphina.
Tom immediately grew tense with the tentative of starting a talk from the mudblood, "Seraphina?" The way he said her name, made Tom look away from his parchment to glare at him.
The witch beside him frowned and averted her eyes from Dumbledore to look at the boy she had never talked with before, "Huh... yes?"
"I was wondering, huh- I was wondering if you could give me some help with Transfiguration. I'm having some difficulties," the mudblood sounded nervous and Tom rolled his eyes at his weak attempt to somehow charm Seraphina.
"Seraphina here is taking private lessons from me, for she has some major difficulties as well," Tom lied through his teeth and the boy frowned looking at him.
He hates Gryffindors and despises even more mudbloods, the combination of the two together made him want to hex the weak wizard.
Tom heard the girl next to him huff but didn't bother looking at her, keeping his gaze on the boy. When Tom sensed Dumbledore was about to look at him, he immediately straightened his back and started taking notes again.
