35| Malfoy's Manor Part 2

No one really understood how it happened, but one hour later none of the teenagers was acting the same. While Lestrange was making a speech standing on the table to his only spectator, Mulciber, Avery was completely knocked out on a chair and Nott was dancing around with Seraphina, both of them screaming the lyrics of the music playing at top of their lungs. Abraxas and Tom were both drowning themselves with wine while playing a weird game of chess.

Everything around the room was a complete mess, but none of them cared about it. The situation felt like a break everyone desperately needed and they didn't know when they would have a chance to get that loose again. Therefore, they didn't care about how ridiculous they looked without their ties and their shirt untucked in their suit pants. Deep down, they knew they would never be those kids again.

Everyone would expect Tom Riddle to always portrait the best version of himself around everyone, even he did, for no one ever caught him completely careless. That night, however, with too much alcohol on his system, he couldn't even form his typical long eloquent sentences. For once, he trusted the people around him and allowed himself to not think so much all the time, which was completely out of his comfort zone.

"Riddle, you're cheating!" Abraxas exclaimed on top of the music, not even knowing if they were still playing chess. The chess pieces were practically all over the floor.

Tom looked offended, "I would never!"

On the other side of the room, Seraphina was still dancing euphorically with Nott, her good friend, "I love you!" She screamed on top of her longs and he laughed hysterically.

She was aware the boys around her were most of the time evil and a very bad influence, but she still loved them like brothers. They were the people who knew her better, they were her family and she couldn't be more thankful for all the attention they gave her, despite everything.

Nott started spinning her around carelessly, both of them unbothered about how ridiculous and childish they looked. When Seraphina got horribly dizzy they had to stop and the witch decided to check on Avery, who was still sleeping on a chair, "Alcides!" she called, hoping he would listen to her despite the loud music, "You alright?" He only nodded his head for a couple seconds, not even opening his eyes, and started snoring again.

She didn't really know what to do, but she supposes he was alright. Sighing, she walked towards Tom, who was still sitting on a chair playing chess with Abraxas. Not caring if she was being too clingy, she stepped behind Tom and placed her arms on top of his shoulders, hugging him from behind, "Who's winning?" She asked, her mouth dangerously close to his ear.

His hands traveled to her naked arms and he ran his fingers gently on her soft skin, "It could only be me, Seraphina," Tom answered when his hand met hers and he slowly took it to his lips so he could plant a small kiss on her small hand, "I'm offended you even asked."

She smiled sheepishly when she felt his soft lips on her skin, "Abraxas is quite gifted at playing chess," the witch defended her blond friend, who raised his bottle at her.

"Thank you, Phiny. And to answer your question, Riddle is cheating!"

Seraphina pretended to be shocked and pulled away from Tom, "Oh, the scandal! Can I play?" She exclaimed, clearly too excited about a chess game.

"You can play instead of Riddle, so we can have a fair game!" Abraxas shouted and the three of them laughed when they heard his violent voice.
