"Why won't you let him rest, Seraphina? How would you feel if someone bothered you while you wanted to rest?" Leo asked his girlfriend as they climbed the stairs.
Seraphina simply rolled her eyes, not understanding why Leo was so bothered by her meeting Tom in his room. One hour ago he didn't care about her attention, but now he was worried about where she was going. How ironic. She was still mad about the way he treated her earlier, but now, with Tom home, it was like her anger towards Leo only intensified.
"I'm going to see him either you like it or not," she snapped and he didn't even seem phased by the way she raised her voice. Sighing, he stopped climbing the stairs and looked at her with a stern look, "What?"
"You're being childish. Think twice before disturbing him," he advised her as if he was talking to a child, actually making her see red.
"I'm not bothering him!" She snapped again, glad the house was big enough for them not be heard by others, "The only person bothering someone right now is you! So leave me alone for a minute, I guess you'll be more than happy to see me out of your sight."
He shook his head looking at the ground, "Is that what you call working on our relationship? I'm your boyfriend and you're screaming at me. Does that seem normal to you?" He was still very calm with the situation, which made her feel even angrier.
She was anxious to talk with Tom and Leo was stopping her with that nonsense, "You know what? I'll leave before we both say something we'll regret later."
"You should."
With that, she turned around and continued climbing the stairs, leaving Leo with a disappointed look on his face behind. Maybe she was being dramatic about the whole situation, but she felt resentful towards Leo. A whole week with him and seeing Tom was a breath of fresh air.
Even though she was still questioning her decision about meeting Tom in his bedroom, her feet didn't stop moving towards his bedroom door, which was right across from hers. She had been in his room countless times. In fact, the nights she slept with him on his bed were far too many, so she didn't even bother knocking on the door when she reached it.
Seeing him naked was never a risk since he always changed in the bathroom. However, she caught him shirtless quite several times, and Seraphina didn't exactly complain. Tom had many problems, but his body wasn't certainly one of them.
Opening his door, she looked inside with curious eyes to see him writing something on his desk, "Come in," he said without turning around.
She did as he said and closed the door, taking a few steps inside his bedroom. Tom's room was as big as hers, or even bigger, but its colors were the exact opposite. The walls were all black, as well as the ground and the rest of the decoration, which was exactly what he wanted when her parents asked him how he wanted his bedroom to be.
He remembered the grey walls of his bedroom back in the orphanage and he wanted nothing similar to that, that's why he chose black. So many traumatizing things happened there, no such kid should endure it. But life didn't treat him right from the moment he was born. It was rare for a kid to talk about hell, but Tom Riddle met the devil as a kid and he was absolutely certain of it.
Seraphina didn't exactly have the most cheerful childhood, with her strict parents and everything. But she had everything he wanted and for that, he could never stop envying her. He knew he shouldn't feel that way, but he hated her sometimes for growing up with wealthy parents and having everything handed to her without even insisting.
