16| Worries and FeelingsSeraphina didn't sleep that night. She spent two hours looking for Tom after supper and she wasn't able to find him anywhere. That was very uncommon since he has his prefect duties and when he wasn't walking around the halls he would be studying in the library or in the Common Room reading a book. But he wasn't in none of those places. It was almost like he disappeared.
The different eye colored witch couldn't help but worry about him. What if something happened to him? Somehow, Tom was never attacked or anything like that, since he had great capabilities as a wizard and no one ever dared to challenge him. She was only aware that he used to be bullied in the orphanage, which made her want to go there and torture every kid who disrespected him.
But after that, he never got in a fight and no one messed with him. He would eventually hex people who annoyed him, but no ever fought back. So what could have possibly happened to him?
It was the longest night of her life and despite being extremely tired, she couldn't fall asleep. That left her hearing the snores of the girls who slept in her dorm. It was bloody annoying and she wanted to choke them so they would stop making so much noise while sleeping. Besides, she envied them for being able to sleep so peacefully at night while she was suffering in the bed all night.
She waited impatiently until morning so she could finally get up and end that terrible night. Why was she so worried anyway? Tom was probably fine.
Seraphina got up from the bed at five and half in the morning and walked slowly towards the bathroom still in her nightgown. She huffed looking at horrible reflection in the mirror and washed her face. She spent all night awake and looked miserable, that was about to be a wonderful day, she predicted.
Brushing her teeth, she decided not to apply makeup on her face like she was used to every single morning. That morning she simply didn't feel like wasting her time on doing a perfect winged eyeliner and hide the freckles on her neck. She always thought freckles were cute on other girls, she just had too much and was used to conceal some of them.
With a scowl, she got dressed in her Slytherin robes and left the bathroom feeling like burying her head on the grass.
She walked towards the Common Room and wasn't surprised when she saw it empty. Looking at her pocket watch, she realized it was too early to have breakfast, so she decided to do some of the homework she had for the Charm's class.
Finally, when it was finally time to go have breakfast she left the dungeons and went up towards the Great Hall, with slow breaths but an accelerated heartbeat.
There were only a few students in the Great Hall and none of her friends were in the Slytherin long table. She sat alone, which was extremely rare, and started eating some toast, but not so surprised she didn't have an appetite.
After a few minutes, she finished eating but stayed in the Great Hall reading a book Grace borrowed her. More students started arriving and the first person to sit with her was her good friend Avery.
He smiled at her, "Morning, early bird."
"Hey," she grunted and he frowned. She was always a morning person, being responsible for cheering up most of her friends in the morning.
"Are you in a bad mood?" She just nodded her head, "Do you want to talk about it?" This time she shook her head and he gave up, starting to eat some cereals while reading the Daily Prophet silently. She was glad he respected her and didn't bother her.
