39| sweet, sweet dreams

"And then he said I had to be friends with Layla again. Can you believe it?" Seraphina finished her story when she was already sitting on the carriage, which was being pulled towards Hogwarts.

Avery yawned, "You don't have girlfriends, Seraphina. Maybe it would be good for you to talk to someone else besides us."

She gasped, "Are you tired of me?" She pretended to be offended.

"Of course not, it's just that I know you would like to have a girl to talk to sometimes," Alcides added and Seraphina looked out of the window to see the enormous great castle getting closer and closer.

"That's true," she agreed, "But I feel like Layla just ain't the friend I need, you know?"

Lestrange chewed on his sandwich, "That's because she's a mudblood."

"And an aggressive one," Nott agreed and Seraphina rolled her eyes.

"Being a Muggleborn has nothing to do with why we're not friends anymore. She was a bitch to me and I don't want to forgive her," she explained.

"I can't believe you're doing it for Greengrass," Tom muttered under his breath.

"Don't start, Tom," she glared at him and he ignored her, looking at his old book again, "Anyways, I'm looking forward to this new beginning, you know? I'm single again and ready to start breaking hearts again," The boys laughed and Tom stayed silent, "What about you guys? I can't believe you're all single."

"Unlike you, we don't have time for meaningless romances," Abraxas said with a proud face.

"Oh, really? What keeps you so busy then?"

"Quidditch," they answered at the same time.

Seraphina chuckled, "Alright, then, I won't argue with that."

"Speaking about Quidditch, that Layla girl is quite good if I must say," Nott spoke, "A little aggressive for my likings, but she's the one who scores the most in Gryffindor."

"Yes, Layla is quite good," Seraphina agreed with a small smile, remembering all the matches she was forced to watch because of Layla, "She's very passionate about it, even more than you, Theo."

"That's impossible," The carriage stopped when Theodore defended his skills and Seraphina saw the students leaving their carriages as well. They were finally at Hogwarts, "No one can ever beat me."

"Just shut up," Abraxas grunted, opening the door so the group could leave, "I need to sleep."

"Why?" They jumped out of the carriage and Avery slapped his back, "Was little Malfoy busy last night?"

"I wish!" He said as they walked in the snow towards the entrance of the castle, it was already dark and they couldn't wait to have dinner in the Great Hall, "I forgot to do my homework and had to do it all last night," he explained.

Seraphina approached Tom, who walked alone in front of the group, and laced her arm on his, "What's wrong, Tom? You seem sad."

He didn't look at her, but accepted her arm around his, "I'm not."

"You know you can talk to me, right?" She insisted, used to his closed-off behavior, but expecting them to be a little closer after Christmas break, especially after what they did on her birthday.
