"You may have power up above, but the underground works under a different set of rules princess."

The notecard fell to the ground causing Historia to gasp.

"What's wrong?" Dot questioned as the Queen stood up quickly, "We've been searching in the wrong place! Get me the guards."

William woke up quickly at the sudden shout, the two kids Melody and Matthew beside him. His eyes rested on the tossed note, before they hardened.

Nothing would ever be easy.

The crowd had dispersed for the night... or was it day? She couldn't tell you. All she knew is she was glad to have a few moments to herself.

She was surprised a cold draft had found its way into the glass box. She pulled her knees up, forgetting for a moment about the facade she'd put up. Her uneven curly hair fell over her shoulders, the pin she'd used to pull it back stolen by one of the men.

On the outside of the glass the woman shook her head, "Pathetic," before pushing herself off the wall. Fixing the daggers within her long coat she passed the short man who sipped from his glass cup.

He chuckled, "What? Her?" before exiting the room, his men parting to allow him to pass her behind him.

The woman's eyes scanned the room, not bothering to answer him. He looked over his shoulder, before pouring himself and her another cup.

"What am I still doing here Aaron?"

The woman questioned leaving the alcohol and not bothering to sit as he had wanted.

He smiled sweetly, "I still have a few more jobs for you."

She rolled her eyes, "Not this time. I'm done. This was my last job," she leaned forward slamming the cup on his desk.

He didn't flinch. He stared at her cold green eyes, her black hair falling over her shoulder as she desperately wanted to slice his neck. However, she vowed to only kill when absolutely necessary. She hoped this situation wouldn't get to that point.

Seconds later the door burst open, causing the man in the chair to raise his hand. She barely glanced in the direction of the door knowing it was his personal guards.

"Timing's a little off," she called out, "If I wanted to, I could have killed him and you," she pointed with the knife that suddenly appeared in her hand causing the men behind her to flinch holding up rifles.

She smiled before turning to the man in front of her.

"I'd watch your back if I were you," she gestured lazily, tossing the dagger in her hand, flipping it before sending it into the wall behind him.

He laughed, "I'll see you soon."

Causing her to mutter... "Will you?"

She hated this life. Hated her work. Not because she cared about anyone but because she cared about herself. She hated looking over her shoulder, hated looking at a person, and knowing exactly how to kill them... without leaving a trace.
