Could you blame me? Really blame me? How stupid could someone be? Armin was right there

Could you blame me? Really blame me? How stupid could someone be? Armin was right there. He can't imagine how guilty Armin must feel, how overwhelmed he must feel.

How many times has he willingly sacrificed-?

"Delphine?"

She looked up, not expecting a voice to interrupt her thoughts.

Oh. That's right, today is the... "Are you ready?" Oliver asked, pushing open the wooden door.

A lot happened in the last week of everyone being back. Delphine forgot what day it was. She was thankful for her advisers.

Oliver volunteered to escort their Queen and despite William's hesitance he knew she needed to see someone else. He wondered how she'd handle it. How would she want to go about the incident?

Delphine attempted a smile, "Yes just one moment."

There's no time to worry about what happened. For now, just focus. She attempted to tell herself.

Oliver nodded his eyes scanning her attempting to take in every change. There wasn't much he noted, except for...

"Did you cut your hair?" He was surprised.

She froze expecting that question but not expecting it to happen so soon.

She cleared her throat, "It was getting long, we went swimming and it was hard to maintain," she smiled halfway.

She was surprised to see him nod slowly agreeing with her words. She didn't blame him, something like a kidnapping and torture was not something either of them saw happening. So her stupid excuse made sense. For the moment.

He smiled, "Well it's pretty."

She nodded acknowledging the compliment but not saying anything.

Delphine took the time to examine herself in the mirror. Her dress might have looked heavy.  However, the entire look was quite light and beautiful, Delphine noted, as her fingers delicately laced gold sandals around her ankles. Historia had taught her just weeks ago how to walk in the odd-shaped shoes.... heels is what they were called. They made her taller, but she liked how they sounded when she walked. It felt as if the shoes demanded attention and for today she liked that.

The veil felt awkward but Delphine had a feeling she'd forget it was there and soon get used to it.

I wonder what Historia will be wearing. Maybe the dress I gifted her. Delphine sighed, adjusting the gold necklace that matched her crown covered in gold flowers and diamonds.

Delphine heard Oliver step forward, she could see him from the mirror. He was proud.

"You look like a queen," Oliver smiles gently, he turns towards the door, "are you ready? Your highness," he regally bowed.
