Right after that comment, Delphine was quick to flip her hand, causing a current to pull Oliver down.
He met a face full of sand, but he laughed. The kind of laugh you feel in your stomach, that shakes your entire body and makes you feel good, "Hey, I w-was j-joking!" He could barely get the words out.
Delphine pouted crossing her arms, "I'm sure whatever happened, wasn't because of Lakes clumsiness but was rather because of your competitiveness!" She pointed, causing the water to stop dragging him.
Lake pulled through her now pink and brown hair, the entire bottom half and a few pieces in the front covered in it, "I think it's safe to say we're both to blame."
"How do I look?" She asked, her blue tail flickering a bit to keep her afloat.
Delphine leaned closer squinting at the streaks and pulling through her hair, suddenly she smiled, "It's actually really cute, it goes well with your light blue tail too."
Oliver snapped his fingers, "Work it."
Lake rolled her eyes, "You're only saying that because now I have to live with it, I should throw you into some green coral to make us even," she hit his side causing him to wince dramatically, "I'm wounded."
Noah laughed, "come on guys."
The rest of the trip was filled with singing. Well, the boys were singing, Delphine and Lake were giggling as per usual.
The sand began to incline, "We're almost there," Lake was giddy, from the ocean they could see the island was beautiful. They'd even discovered an underwater cave that led deeper into the island. From the tunnels they discovered on the initial swim they could tell this island was a gem.
Noah beamed, "Wow, look at those rocks! It's like they're protecting the island," his hand moved to rest on them.
Delphine swam over quickly, "I know right! And look at this," she was shaking with excitement now. Slowly she raised her hand to rest on the rock.
Suddenly it began to shake and it split from the other rock, making a way for the group.
Noah was needless to say speechless, "Woah, how in the sea? That's so awesome," his eyes were literally sparkling at this point.
Lake shook him, "IT GETS better. Come on!" With little to no effort, she pulled him up the gradual incline.
Delphine raised her hand, finally able to see the rays of the sun shining through. She almost forgot how dark her skin was. It wasn't every day they got to see natural light. Her tail kicked, hitting the sand for a moment as she pushed herself up the incline.
"Wow, the water is so clear!" Oliver exclaimed, waving his hand around quickly.
William's eyes were on the untouched shells, "Guys, look!" He began pushing the sand away, his stomach resting on a rock. He scooped his hand up and shook the sand away. He was met with nearly a dozen tiny shells and a few fish that dove back into the sand.
