Levi knew it would be terribly rude and unbecoming of him to open his eyes knowing a woman was changing around him. As a result, he kept his eyes closed until he was sure. That sureness came in the form of her shoulder resting on his and her steady breaths.

He opened his eyes, the teacup to his side still empty. Suddenly, drinking tea wasn't as important, as holding a conversation with the pretty mermaid. Or having tea with Delphine as she insisted she be called.

He hadn't had a chance to compliment her tail, and he was grateful because if he had he was sure he would have stumbled over his words at some point. The soft blush tail contrasted well with her pretty brown like skin. Softer and smoother than anything he'd ever seen.

Her eyes... they were a completely different story. He didn't know what it reminded him of... Maybe that sea Arlet won't stop talking about, or the ocean she showed him. They sounded like the same thing.

They were so blue. Different than his, brighter, hopeful, and kind. Her smile was contagious, her chubby cheeks and indents Noah called dimples adding to the soft effect she gave off any time she spoke.

When he saw her fight and the way she moved with grace and skill. She was quick to change back into her bubbly self as if..... if what?

Levi rolled his eyes at himself, the conversation within almost comical. When did he become so observant?

Oh wait, he'd always been this way.... Just less and less. War brings no time for foolish and naive thinking. He looked at her still. Still, the happy look she kept in her eyes tugged at his heart, the heart that felt so much and yet showed so little.

The sky darkened, drawing his attention. Moving on autopilot he slipped out of his jacket resting it on her shoulders preparing to be caught in the rain. He wrapped his arms around Delphine's figure, her shoes finding its way around his fingers.

She moved slightly, her fingers pulling his jacket closer, causing him to scoff, "tch, she'll get slobber all over it," he muttered to himself as he looked up the thick forest, not thick enough.

He wondered if it was selfish of him to not want to walk back, to return to the paperwork, to have dinner with his friends. He wished he could spend more time out with her away from the responsibilities. Except according to her, the likelihood it would stop anytime soon was low.

So it would be better if they leave now. So as not to get caught in the rain too bad.

He was thankful she hadn't woken up on the walk but as they approached the castle the rain finally pouring down he wondered what he should do.

Take her to her room? Wake her up now and leave her?

Dinner was in an hour and he figured she'd want to freshen up, he knew he wanted too.
